il Caffegelato — Restaurant in Venice

If you are a tourist, theres not much reason why you’d walk to this part of Venice. On this occasion, I bought a “too good to go”, when i arrived on the dot, the server told me theres nothing left and canceled my order on the spot. I walked about 20mins to this place and they could have canceled my order earlier. I was warned by many that the locals tend to be rude to tourists, so this establishment probably is the perfect example of that.

I told the server politely that I walked a long way to get here and he could have communicated this earlier via the app. What he said later was shocking. He said: what do you expect? You paid £4 for something that cost £20. So this server probably isn’t very well trained and this shows you how poorly run this place is.

Not even an apology, instead shaming me for purchasing a “too good to go”. In the country where I’m from, this server will lose his job the next...

The rudest staff! After being ignore for around 5min in the ice cream counter, we asked for someone's attention and she shouted at us to wait (no sorry, no please no sign of empathy) and when we made a comment telling her weve been already waiting (seeing the other clients that were spending more than just an ice cream were being acknowledged one after another) she shouted: so go somewhere else! Followed a duck in here (seriously, it quacked until the chef came out to give it food), and that was probably one of the best recommendations we've gotten in Venice. The calzone was amazing, and my daughter had a hamburger that was on a perfectly toasted brioche bun. Their American chocolate chip cookie was incredible. This place knows how to bake, no doubt.
