We found this restaurant by accident and we probably had the best food during our entire Italy trip. The place is a little small and only has some bar chairs to sit on the wide. They sell different cicchetti veneziani, and a lot of people come only to have a small snack and a drink while standing up. However they also have a real menu. We tried the pappardelle with pesto and spaghetti with shrimps and eggplant sauce and both were delicious. We couldn't miss to also try some of the cicchetti and the polpette. Everything was excellent.
I also really loved the atmosphere. It's a little away from the tourist routes and most of the clients were locals drinking their wine or best and having a small snack while socialising. The owner was exceptional friendly and welcoming. At the end I also tried their Negroni and even they were out of ice it was really good.
Thanks for this evening, I hope we can be back some day.

Read moreI ate tonight with my wife, who is a very good cook. we were both amazed at the authentic and fresh taste of the food. The atmosphere is family, the host very welcoming, every day two ducks from the lagoon come to the door and feed them. A small restaurant, but with a family atmosphere, with locals who greet you with ciao, as if you are in the Venetian Anonymous. It was an excellent experience, the prices are a fifth lower than in the central area of Venice and the taste half as much. Although we made it a point not to eat at the same place twice, we will go there again tomorrow night. I spoke to the chef, the secret of the taste is not only the recipe, but the fact that they only use very fresh and quality ingredients and they don't have an excessively large menu, so that they can focus on quality. We...
Read moreOne of the small streets of Venice, where you don’t look for surprises! But then you bump into “la Osteria al Tajer” and you are lucky enough to find a spot! Food: like from Mama‘s kitchen – but Italian mama not just any mama! Wines: a small but excellent collection of very good wines. Watch the Cicchetti (the small Venetian sandwiches with great variety of toppings)! They were so good. I had to stop myself to leave space for the main serving.
Of course, we met some friends there – people who come into this place because they just simply enjoy company - that rounded the whole thing off. Much more to say! It’s recommended to...
