We were staying in Mestre and this restaurant, fortunately, was just down the road. We were the first to arrive, but within minutes the place was buzzing with locals. It looks like it is a family run restaurant as everyone seemed to know what their job was and they worked together like a well oiled machine. It has a lovely ambience too and we felt very welcome. I had the chicken breast and my husband had the hamburger meat (this isn't a hamburger, but a large patty of hamburger meat) and he also had a choice of salad or vegetables with it. Both the meals were superb, fresh with wonderful ingredients and so very tasty. We had a lovely side of bread as well. The meals were large and the salad was enough for the two of us and the freshest I have ever had (no brown lettuce leaves, mushy tomatoes) and we couldn't finish it. We had drinks, which were very reasonably priced and we also had a shared dessert of the Pistacchio Tiramisu. We really, really enjoyed the meal here and have never had such tasty burger meat. Highly recommend this restaurant as you feel the love and passion that goes...
Read moreIm so sorry, very sorry ... for finding this place so late on our visit in Mestre. First of all, this is a family place - this means that the owners will do there best to make you feel at home - I think I have been asked like 5 times if all is ok from the owners' daughter :) - and it was. Second, the cuisine - this is just the best, simple and fresh, it goes straight to your heart - believe me ;) Now don't expect to choose from 20x types of Italian dishes - nope, you'll get what is in that season, fresh and good (also valid for fish foods). If it was good enough for Obelix it will be good enough for you ;) (i think this is inspired by Asterix and Obelix adventures - my childhood heroes).
I really liked Francesco's cooking, and think he deserves more credit. Was really surprise for those negative reviews I saw - but after reading his replays I decided to give it a shot - didn't regret it ;) Would really love to go back there someday - so much left to try. Thanks for a nice experience.

Read moreThe service was incredibly rude. At first, I put the clam shells on the placemat, and when a waiter asked me to move them onto my plate, I did so without any issue. But later, another waiter came over and bossed me around, telling me to pick up the shells and put them on the plate again, which I refused. I’m not impolite—l always clean up when asked politely. But being ordered around by the owner at a place that charges 3 Euro corver fee? Sorry i can't do that.
The whole restaurant smelled like cheap air freshener. The pasta l ordered was just so so. Maybe it's subjective, but the clams definitely didn’t seem fresh. I'd tried clams in plenty of coastal spots around the world, so I'd like to think I know good or bad quality when I taste it.
Honestly, this was the worst restaurant I've been to in Italy. If you don’t want to ruin your trip, I'd strongly suggest staying far away from this place
One more thing, the owner chased me out of the restaurant and yelled at me, which was really...
