My first meal I ate in Italy was Chinese. I didn’t plan it that way but I had to get my eSIM activated so I could have data while I was in Italy. By the time I finished and returned it was almost 11pm. Ristorante Cinese Delizie was open and only 2 blocks from where I was staying.
I got the spring rolls and spicy 🌶️ duck. I usually order duck whenever I can and they had 5 different types of duck. Crispy duck, sweet and sour duck, duck with bamboo and mushrooms, grilled duck, and spicy duck. I have never had spicy duck before and now you’re combining two of my favorite things so I had to get it.
It was very good, tender with a little kick to it. I know they probably turned down the heat for the locals and I forgot to mention I wanted it very spicy, but it was good nevertheless. The spring rolls were alright but very greasy.
This place had authentic Chinese food like intestines, duck tongue, etc. I know because I lived in China for a little over a year. There are also a number of Chinese tourists in Italy so they probably cater to them. Of course they had “western “ style Chinese food like sweet and sour, kung pao chicken, etc. They also had ramen and some things that seemed to me like Chinese-Italian fusion.
All in all a good place to go or something different than traditional Italian food. Plus all of the duck dishes...
Read moreWe tried quite a few chinses restaurant near venice mestre station area and liked this place the most . The interior is bright and has well spaced tables. The fried rice and noodles were definitely a saviour from the usual "pizza-pasta" in the entire trip. The side dishes were made according to what is more authentic , so we didnot find the typical indo-chinese taste that we get in India. The pork ribs in sweet and sour sauce tasted too sweet and the prawns in chilli sauce hardly had any chilli sauce . The soups were watery and didnot have the thicker(cornflour) consistency that we get in India. However you can ask for soya sauce and chilli sauce and spice it up according to your taste. Best part is the rates are pocket friedly and cover charge (coperto) is 1 € per person. And the food comes hot within minutes.
There few negetives as well - they didnot do any customizations for us (ex - we asked for less sweetness in the ribs and more chilli sauce in prawns) Secondly portion sizes vary to some extent . On the first day almost 1.5 times fried rice and side dishes were served compare to 2nd day. Also Menu card had pictures with no actual resemblance to the dish. The lady told us they are for our imagination.
Overall i will highly recommend...
Read moreVery bad Service, Food is OK. We waited 40min till we can order our food. Drinks were not served we had to grab them by ourselfs from the fridge, because the service always was in a hurry and didnt manage to serve our drinks. After another 25minutes our main course arrived, despite the fact that we also ordered starters but they came looong after the main course. The duck was partially cold, which I dont understand because we waited so long. The „crispy“ duck was also greasy and was served with no rice or souce and this for 8€ which is quit expensive for such a portion. Overall the staff didnt manage to read and organize tickets, the whole restaurant waited on their food and service and a lot of food was missing at some tables. Cant recommend this one if your hungry because it took us 1 1/4h till we get...
