Malibu Chiosco — Restaurant in Venice

WARNING!! THREATS, PHYSICAL INTIMIDATION, VERBAL ABUSE, AND SWEARING/INSULTS IN FRONT OF WOMEN!

As someone who has worked as a chef in different countries for the past 10 years, I can confidently say that I have never had such a terrible restaurant experience in my life. During my time in Italy, I ate at many places, but this was the first time I encountered such a disturbing situation. We had ordered a simple sandwich with only three ingredients, yet despite waiting for about 50 minutes, our order never arrived. The staff was indifferent, rude, and completely disrespectful.

Orders at neighboring tables were also served incorrectly and very late. However, because those customers were locals, the staff did not show such aggressive behavior. Since we were tourists, the situation was different: when we tried to leave, they accused us by saying “you ordered,” insulted us with heavy Italian swearing, made mocking gestures, and threw our change on the floor instead of handing it to us.

If my girlfriend had not been with me, I would have reacted much more strongly to the disrespectful physical behavior! I did not file an official complaint at the time because I was a tourist and it was the last day of my vacation. However, I intend to report this establishment via email to the relevant authorities in Venice. Allowing this kind of behavior to continue would be a serious problem for both tourists and locals.

In none of the countries I have visited, nor during my 25-day trip to Italy, have I ever encountered such rude, inattentive, and disrespectful behavior. I definitely do not...

I've been in Lido for almost a month and it was the first bad experience. I had passed by this place a few times and I’ve seen few people eating and drinking. I decided this weekend to try it out. We sat down and waited for over 10 minutes ( place was empty) and no one showed up. I went to the counter to order and the guys who was cooking completely ignored me like I was invisible and continued talking to his local friends. Besides him, I tried to communicate with the waitress and she acted the same way. So I decided to sit down, because I imagined that she would come and talk to us. Time passed and she kept going back and forth without even saying a word for us to wait or anything like that. Completely disrespectful. I worked for 4 years in a restaurant, the first thing that you learn is treat people with respect and kindness but ignoring customers as if they didn't exist was too much. There were 4 or 5 ladies having a few drinks next to us and apparently they were waiting a long time for their food. I would like to give a score of 0 for the lack of experience of the employees who were there on...

Ottimi toast e piadine...ma personale scortese, non all'altezza dei ritmi di lavoro e alla pressione dell'alta stagione...sembra gli fai un favore a essere nel loro chiosco...peccato perchè da mangiare e gli aperitivi sono anche buoni ma tutto il resto è da fare un'alta scuola di umiltà ed educazione...chiosco situato sotto a dei pini marittimi quindi posizione ideale per mangiare e rilassarsi un pò all'ombra dalle giornate calde di luglio e agosto ma con un clima di totale scortesia e maleducazione...le uniche che si salvano sono le cameriere donne che intonano le canzoni della radio e cercano di fare il loro lavoro senza mai rispondere indietro ai titolari...
