This family-owned restaurant is hands down one of the best I’ve visited in Venice specifically, and the whole of Italy generally - I would come again just to try their food!
Service - We were greeted by Suzy who immediately made us feel like home with her wonderfully bubbly personality and excellent knowledge of the menu and food served at the restaurant. She explained thoroughly the different choices on the menu and how they were prepared and gave us great recommendations when we asked and we were so glad we took her recommendations! Despite how busy it was, Suzy and family were all very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Ingy and Sherif, the chefs, came over to our table to check that the food was to our liking and also to double check dietary requirements which we really appreciated.
Food - I can’t say enough good things about the food! We ordered the grilled sea bass, the creamy Salmon pasta, the mixed seafood pasta and mixed fried fish with vegetables. The food arrived in a very timely manner and was really well-presented, starting with the mixed fried fish which was a mixture of fried shrimp, calamari, octopus and other fish as well as aubergines. It was crispy and moreish and made us look forward to the mains! The creamy Salmon pasta was rich and indulgent but not cloying or heavy in any way thanks to the tomato in the pasta sauce which balanced out the flavour really well. The mixed pasta came with a good variety of fresh seafood and was seasoned really well. The grilled sea bass was the highlight dish for us - the fish itself was very fresh and Emad, who deboned the fish for us at the table, explained how he personally picks out the fish from the Venice fish market every morning to ensure its quality and freshness. This was evident in the sea bass we ate which was tender, flavourful, and grilled to perfection! Ingy and Emad very kindly served us some extra starters using the restaurant’s homemade pizza dough and fresh fruit + tasty tiramisu and panna cotta to complete the meal. They say the proof is in the pudding and this pudding proved that Da noi know what they’re doing when it comes to cooking up delicious food!
Price - we ordered 5 dishes and the price of the food in comparison with the quality and portion sizes was excellent for Venice which is typically more expensive compared to other cities in Italy.
Location - the restaurant is located far away from the tourist hotspots and has a lovely atmosphere. It is constantly busy and we noticed that it was frequented by locals which is always a good sign. They also have seating options both inside and outside the restaurant.
Hygiene - the restaurant was very clean and everyone working there wore masks and washed their hands regularly. There was hand sanitizer readily available for use and the tables inside were evenly spaced out in compliance with covid measures.
Overall, we had a brilliant experience at this restaurant and we can’t wait to come back! Thank you Suzy, Ingy, Emad, and the...
Read moreAs I was searching for pizza restaurants with high ratings on google maps, I found this restaurant and decided to have lunch here. I ordered classic bruschette and a pizza with mushrooms and onions. To drink I had a soft drink and a red wine. And here it began. As I was sitting at the table and waiting for my drinks and food I could see tiny fruit flies around me all the time. So one finally landed in the wine, which was not too nice. As the bruschette were served, these flies were sitting ongoingly on them, which was absolutely disgusting. Additionally the bruschette were almost tasteless for my taste buds. Unfortunately. After that, the pizza came. The taste was not bad, but not good at all, something in between, on the weak side. I didn’t like the crust, which was awfully sweet in my opinion and the mushrooms were not fresh. I ate quickly and left this place as soon as possible. In summary, I have to say that I cannot understand the good reviews here on this platform because I personally didn’t have a positive...
Read moreMerely TOURIST TRAP. The reviews caught our attention but it was not what it seems to be (or probably they changed ownership of the restaurant and they kept the Google myBusiness Account).
First red flag of the visit is that the restaurant was empty on a Saturday evening. Apart from that, the waiter crosses the line trying to be extra friendly that turns out being awkward.
The carbonara did not have guanciale, but seemed to be bacon and heavy cream. In the end, not the authentic one with egg yolks and cheese.
They skipped the protocol of serving the wine in our table. They brought it already poured/served, and charged 6 EUR per glass - which is a red flag taking into consideration what they did.
Lasagna was meh. Again, expectations were high based on the reviews of the restaurant and the price
Please, avoid this restaurant if you were planning to eat “authentic Italian cuisine”. There are way more better restaurants half...
