A Slice of Venetian Heaven: Pizzeria La Taverna, A Love Letter Venice, a city that already steals your heart with its canals and charm, found a way to burrow even deeper into mine, thanks to Pizzeria La Taverna. From the moment I stepped through the door, I felt enveloped in a warmth that transcended mere hospitality; it was like being welcomed into a bustling, joyous family home. The aroma alone was enough to make my stomach sing – that intoxicating blend of baking dough, rich tomato sauce, and melting mozzarella. But what truly astonished me was the quality of the food, especially when juxtaposed with the incredibly reasonable prices. In a city where dining can often feel like a tourist trap, La Taverna offered genuine, heartfelt culinary artistry without breaking the bank. Let's talk about the pizza. The crust, thin and crisp with just the right amount of chew, was a masterpiece in itself. The toppings, clearly fresh and of the highest quality, sang in harmony with the perfectly balanced sauce. Every bite was a revelation, a testament to the passion and skill of the pizzaioli. And beyond the pizza, the other dishes I saw being served looked equally tempting, a true reflection of authentic Italian cuisine. But La Taverna's magic isn't solely in its food. The team, from the moment I arrived until the moment I reluctantly departed, were simply wonderful. Their smiles were genuine, their willingness to help unwavering. They exuded a contagious joy that made the entire dining experience an absolute pleasure. They were attentive without being intrusive, and their recommendations were spot-on. It was clear they loved what they did, and that love shone through in every interaction. I came to Venice expecting beauty, and I found it in abundance. But I also found a culinary gem in Pizzeria La Taverna, a place that embodies everything I adore about Italian dining: delicious food, warm hospitality, and an atmosphere that feels like home. I have fallen head over heels for Venice, and it's a certainty that I'll be back. And when I do return, Pizzeria La Taverna will be my first stop. An incredible restaurant, an incredible meal, and an incredible experience. Thank you, to everyone at La Taverna, for making my evening so special and undeniably...
Read moreExperienced very racist interaction with this restaurant when we visited. We arrived after all the locals giving us strange looks as we entered the restaurant, told there were no tables available only to be then told 30 seconds later than a table was free and seeing they actually had more than five tables free!!! Every other customer served promptly after seating however me and my girlfriend had not even been served drinks after 20 minutes of waiting! We believed maybe it was because we were not locals but no there was other foreign families all getting served fine and it only dawned on us that I was the only colored person in the restaurant. We decided to walk out after waiting around for 30 minutes, the waiter kept ignoring our requests to order and she even had the audacity to sneak her head through thinking we might have already left. As we were leaving one of the Chef's sarcastically said goodbye and the locals all laughing and giving funny looks at us. Never will I visit this restaurant again and I wouldn't recommend to any...
Read moreVery rude and slow service. Sat here for 20 min without even taking the drink order. We had to ask 3 times to place the order “we’re coming one minute” and when we finally had the lovely opportunity to place the order, the waitress arrived with the biggest attitude.
The food looks good but yah gotta take care of your customers! A 10 min wait is fine but 20 min is unacceptable.
Edit: food wasn’t anything special. Fried mozzarella balls were cold on the inside. Pizza and pasta were average.
Aperol spritz was the worst one I’ve ever had. Water and Prosecco never arrived after 20 min of ordering them.
Pizza came out 10 min before the pasta so my husband and I...
