The Tortuga Bar is situated within approximately 200 metres of the water taxi stop that takes the visitor from the main islands to those of Murano and Burano. You may be one of those people who feel a little hesitant stepping into unfamiliar places when in foreign climes. fear not, from first sight to stepping into the premises you will feel at home and welcome in very relaxed surroundings. the local beer is good and the food from the in house pizzeria is excellent. you can even see it being made and cooked as you wait. Not pancetta and more with a thin ham. The pizza was also horrible, and we only ordered a margarita but it tasted more like a pitta bread in texture. Save your money and go elsewhere. Probably would be nice for a quick drink, but lacks ambiance. Waiter seemed more interested in organising menus the entire time we were there, rather than bringing the bill when asked. I would suggest a candle per table to lighten the dingey and what feels dirty atmosphere. And for the owners to review the menu, perhaps a smaller list may encourage...
