Nice modern venue at the new port of this town with a charming atmosphere. And unfortunately, that is where my praises end. The service was problematic and the quality of the food lackluster, which seems to be in line with many touristic spots in this area.

I was there for an impromptu birthday brunch and the first impression was that the place looked slick, in line with this newly constructed area. The decor seemed curated and very "Pinterest inspired".

In the end, we only settled for a quick late breakfast (which means an overpriced coffee or cappuccino, orange juice, and a savory or sweet pastry) since it was getting kinda late for everyone. After 10/15 minutes sitting at the table, we had to go and ask for someone to come and get the order, which is fine, there were a few people coming in.

I appreciated the waitress (one of only two servers working the entire venue) apologizing in advance for the delayed service, however, having to then wait almost 30 minutes for a coffee seems a bit excessive.

I do not blame the staff, they were working very hard and were incredibly nice. I blame the management who decided to only put two servers and two baristas in service when they clearly needed at least 2 more servers and a runner.

The kitchen is located at the back of the venue while the bar is almost at the front separated by a wall and another open-view kitchen that was not operating while I was there. This odd placement seemed to create communication issues between the two areas. The two servers, while taking orders, had to run in the back to get pastries for the bar which then prepared the coffees that sat there on the counter, waiting for the servers to come and collect the order. This resulted in warm coffees/cappucinos and pastries that I don't know if they were heated or were just on the verge of being stale. The small jar of juice was nice and fresh, though.

Judging by other reviews and how the venue replies to critiques, I doubt they'll ever better themselves or that I will be back voluntarily. But you might love it if you like a cool ambiance and you don't care about time, money, or the...

Buona fortuna...

I’ve always liked this place, but my recent visit left me puzzled. We came in later for dinner, and things felt off from the start. The waitress seemed impatient—especially when I tried to translate the menu for my friends. After taking our order, she never came back. We ordered hummus, which tasted fine, but it came with only four pieces of pita bread—barely enough for sharing. I tried to get another beer, but that turned out to be impossible. The food overall was okay, but honestly, you’ll find better (and cheaper) burgers at the BBQ spot downtown in Ventimiglia. If you're in the restaurant business, shouldn't the goal be to make guests feel welcome and cared for? This time, it felt like we were more of a burden...

Palosanto in Ventimiglia is a fantastic spot with a great mix of Italian, Mediterranean, and Spanish flavors. I tried the ribs, the sweet burger, and their churros—everything was delicious! However, I’d love to see their burgers be a bit bigger and even more flavorful. The atmosphere is lively, the service is great, and it’s definitely a place worth visiting.
