Osteria Scalin — Restaurant in Verona

Our first night in Verona was truly unforgettable, thanks to the marvelous meal we had at Scalin Osteria in Veronetta. From the moment we arrived, the staff was attentive and welcoming, setting the stage for a fantastic dining experience.

We began our evening with refreshing Spritz and Chardonnay Rifermentato, paired perfectly with the Grande Antipasto di Mare. The seafood platter immediately hinted at the culinary delights to come, with fresh and perfectly prepared seafood making it a memorable start.

For the main course, we indulged in Lasagne al Forno, Carbonara di Pesce Spada, Pappardelle con Ragout d’Anatra, and Pizza Diavola. Each dish was a testament to the chef’s skill and the quality of the ingredients used. The lasagne was cooked to perfection, the carbonara with swordfish was rich and flavorful, the pappardelle with duck ragout was divine, and the pizza was an absolute delight with a crispy crust and generous toppings.

The highlight of the evening was when the chef himself came to our table. This personal touch made our dining experience even more special, showing a level of care and dedication that is rare to find.

I didn't know how hard I had been missing out on a truly exceptional gnocchi until I came to this place. I honestly almost regret it, because now I can never enjoy another gnocchi having this as a comparison. Nothing will ever be the same. Jokes aside, this was seriously one of the best restaurants we ate in during our trip to Italy. Everything about it: the presentation, the portions, the ambience and quality of food, everything was a 5-star experience. I've eaten in Michelin star restaurants that have impressed me significantly less than Scalin Osterja in Veronetta. We even personally met the chef, he and the rest of his staff were very awesome and down to earth. We made a little bit of an orthodox request to have everything rush ordered and pre paid for so that we could eat fast and run to catch a train. We missed the train by literally 2 minutes, but the memory of the delicious food was all the comfort I needed to...

We were so pleased to come across Osteria Scalin. We love seafood and were extremely hungry after searching for a number of seafood restaurants only to find them closed or no longer existing. We fell into this place on pure chance on our walk back to our apartment. Scalin's staff were extremely welcoming and delivered excellent service.
