This place looks wonderful. So why one star? Unfortunately for us we arrived in Verona on a Sunday afternoon and had to leave by Tuesday morning. We were amazed to find that every single museum and institution of genuine interest and worth in this city is closed on Mondays. This museum is closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday - so what are the chances of seeing it? In our brief afternoon here we managed to visit the magnificent arena and the wonderful Roman Theatre and its archaeological museum. We missed this one. A terrible disappointment. What a shame. It is a very poor way to promote your valuable heritage by making these places all close on the same day. Why not have some that close on another day?
