On July 17th, we visited your Sushiko restaurant located in the Adigeo shopping center in Verona. I would like to express my deep disappointment with the experience we had during our dinner.
Upon arrival, I asked about how the ordering process works, and we were informed that it was an all-you-can-eat concept for €15.90 per person, excluding drinks. We decided to sit down with three people and ordered our drinks, which were served quickly – the only positive part of our visit.
Next, we filled in the order form for the first round of sushi. To our surprise, the form remained untouched on our table for at least 25 minutes. Only after my wife actively tried to get the attention of the staff did someone finally pick it up. However, the waitress was busy clearing tables and guiding new customers to their seats, so our order was only passed to the kitchen about 15 minutes later. Altogether, it took around 40 minutes before we received our first food.
To make matters worse, the dishes we received did not match what we had ordered. When we brought this to the waitress’s attention, she simply said, "Yes, the photos on the menu are incorrect." We found this to be very misleading and highly unprofessional.
By the time we considered a second round of ordering, our patience was already gone. We decided to leave the restaurant. I addressed the manager regarding the poor service and the misleading food presentation, but he just stammered and laughed about it – which we found extremely disrespectful and unprofessional.
We are deeply disappointed with the service, the long waiting times, and the lack of transparency about the food. For us, it’s clear: we will never return to this restaurant and will advise others to...
Read moreUpdate: I have added a review without much information regarding Sushiko. Only the classification of 3 stars.
Now, three years, later the business has sent a message requesting more information. Extremely late, but fair enough. So bear in mind that the service may have changed a bit in the last thousand days.
Service: Sushiko is a oriental food restaurant. Their system works on a structure similar to luggage belts on airports. The food options pass in front of the table in a belt. If you see one that you like, you take it from the belt and eat it. So, no need to food service on the table. Only for drinks and to remove used plates. The service was not particularly fast and small plates would accumulate to a high pile before someone would pick it up.
Food: This place is not bad. However not anything remarkable about it. The sushi is discreet. The menu is very limited, or possibly, a customer before us on the food railroad was picking up all the different options of dishes. Due to the amount of time things would take to arrive or the time spent travelling around, possibly, the fried options would get soggy. The sushi was often a bit dry.
I don't remember having a single option that I though 'wow, this is really good!'. Among the options for sushi out there, this is a regular one in my opinion. Not bad, not very good either. Three stars seem fair based on my experience. Let's indeed hope I have an opportunity to try it again when...
Read moreWhenever I come back to Verona If I have to decide which sushi should I go to I always choose this one. I’ve lived in Milan which is famous for the very good sushi and in my opinion this sushi is really good. The taste is very fresh and also the dimensions of the pieces are really equilibrate in my opinion. The staff is extremely nice, as soon as I arrived I was alone e and they gave me a spot removing another sit next to me, I believe to give me space, I really appreciate it. From time to time I work in the restaurants and I know how hard it is being able to manage all the food requests and not let anyone wait, but I totally understand this and to me the wait is worthy. Furthermore a very nice waitress asked me when I wanted to drink my cappuccino since I still had food on my table, so again I would like to say that I appreciate this gesture and I believe that the staff is very caring. In the end I was so full and I wanted to bring home a little sweet bread and again the waitress was really nice and helped me finding a solution, and on top of that while I was leaving I was forgetting my package and another waitress reminded me to pick it up. So you have to try this...
