Pizza dei Signori — Restaurant in Vicenza

I’m not sure I’ve ever written a review while still at the restaurant, but the pizza was so liquid it was essentially like trying to eat a pasta sauce on rapidly disintegrating bread with just a fork.

The staff are so inattentive and frankly rude, that it took 10 minutes for anyone to seat me at the restaurant (which should have been the first sign). During those 10 minutes waiting I had basically the whole restaurant crew walk past me many times each.

Next, they seated me but didn’t give me a menu, I tried to get the attention of the staff for maybe 5-10 minutes to get one but in the end I gave up and stood up and got my own menu from the servers “greeting table”.

After this, I ordered a beer and a pizza and asked if there were any nuts in the pizza I was ordering (I have an allergy) and the server said “No, I think it’ll be fine”. When I pushed him to actually check with the kitchen, he came back a couple of minutes and said that it in fact did have nuts in so I’d have to order something different. This is downright dangerous behaviour from a restaurant.

After ordering a different pizza, it took over an hour to arrive, by which point I’d finished my drink and no one else had shown up to ask if I’d like to order another. The staff are so elusive that it was a serious effort to flag one down to order a drink and I gave up.

During the meal, a different server dropped and smashed a plate right next to my table, a shard of which flew up and hit me. The server didn’t even recognise that I was close or that it hit me and it didn’t seem to occur to him to apologise.

Additionally, I heard many plates smashing in the kitchen throughout the meal and at one point someone must have kicked the aux cable out of the phone because there was the distinctive loud pop/crackling sound as the music stopped. Then the loud pop sound came again a few minutes later as they plugged in back in but at 5 times the volume this time before fixing that a few moments later.

Ten minutes after I finished the pizza, the server came over and asked how it was. I said that it probably wasn’t worth the hour+ long wait and that the service was very disappointing. His reply: “Okay. Can I get you anything else? If you want to just pay then come inside for the bill”. Unbelievable. No apology, no effort to understand, just exceptionally rude staff and bad food.

I would like to remind the staff that they don’t work in a Michelin star restaurant, simply they are owned by a chef who does! This is far far below any kind of Michelin standard and the restaurant should be embarrassed by this quality of food...

Purtroppo l'esperienza che abbiamo avuto è stata nel complesso non positiva, forse avevamo alte aspettative visto il nome ma il servizio e la pizza non possono ritenersi all'altezza. La serata non era particolarmente affollata tant'è che molti tavoli all'esterno ed internamente erano liberi e ci siamo potuti accomodare, in 4, subito. Abbiamo fatto l'ordine e poco dopo sono arrivate due birre, le altre due bibite sono arrivate dopo cinque minuti. Dopo 50' dall'ordinazione abbiamo dovuto attirare ancora l'attenzione del cameriere, il quale ci ha detto che le pizze erano in forno. Dopo 10' sono arrivate, mediamente una pizza ci mette 3-4' per cucinarsi... Due pizze sono arrivate bruciate per metà. Finito di mangiare abbiamo ordinato dei caffè, che sono stati serviti senza cucchiaino e zucchero (le basi); abbiamo richiamato l'attenzione dei camerieri che dopo un pò sono venuti al tavolo (ribadisco che il locale non era assolutamenteaffollato) per sapere di cosa avevamo bisogno, abbiamo chiesto zucchero e cucchiaini e dopo alcuni minuti li hanno portati, ma nel frattempo, il cameriere, aveva servito altre pizze... Quando siamo andati a pagare, ci è stato chiesto se, a parte l'attesa (quindi riconosciuta anche dai ristoratori), era andato tutto bene; penso sia una frase di circostanza perchè di solito, quando ci sono dei disguidi si cerca di assecondare il cliente magari offrendo i caffè o riducendo il conto. Questi importanti dettagli mettono in secondo piano la buona qualità dei prodotti e la cura nella scelta soprattutto quando i prezzi praticati ed il nome dovrebbero rispecchiare il servizio di un certo livello. Been in Italy since a week ago and over 5 cities been visited including cities like Verona, Bologna,Bergma dinning in Italy is alway something but this please is reaaaaaaaaaaaaaly exceptional starting the great service to the fooooood and lastly the atmosphere, wanted to do some work I was given a table close to the electricity to plug in my laptop and was given Wi Fi to do the work while more than 90% of the plaza area had no Wi-Fi. Truly great please and should be tried thanks to Micheal, Arianna a people not to forget...
