Biasio Centro — Restaurant in Vicenza

Excellent dining experience! This should have a higher rating and be more highly priced than it is. We were nervous about the creamed cod but were told it was a popular local dish. Woah, this was the place to have it! Absolutely delicious and a must try. Our server Michael was absolutely fantastic and pointed out their house specialties. The sea bass was also awesome. We topped it off with fried cream for dessert - another dish that we were somewhat hesitant about. Wonderful stuff!

As an aside: most of the menu options have regular or ‘master’ portions. I’m a large guy and big eater and the regular was plenty of food! The photos show the “regular” mussels and I’d bet there were 3 dozen huge tasty...

Sono venuto qui a bere aperitivi centinaia di volte ma l'ultima volta, il 3 novembre, sono stato allontanato dai tavolini perché il locale era chiuso e dovevano "spostare i tavoli" benché avessi chiesto espressamente di restare seduto avendo un infortunio a una gamba che mi faceva un male dannato. Avevo ovviamente intenzione di bere qualcosa e avrei pazientemente aspettato l'apertura approfittando per riposare nel frattempo un poco la gamba dolorante. Invece l'inflessibile e maleducato cameriere coi capelli rossi non ha avuto né educazione né un minimo di sensibilità e mi ha fatto alzare. Sono andato a sedermi ovviamente altrove. Quando più tardi sono ripassato a fargli notare la grave mancanza di educazione, sensibilità e professionalità manifestatami non ha chiesto nemmeno scusa e ha balbettato solamente che lui " doveva pulire i tavoli". Come se ciò giustificasse il fare alzare un cliente ( in attesa di consumare e pagare) dolorante per un infortunio. Io resto basito che esistano persone non solo così insensibili ma pure poco professionali e poco istruite sul proprio lavoro perché mai e poi mai in un'attività pubblica si dovrebbe essere scortesi senza ragione con un cliente oltretutto abituale. A maggior ragione se ha problemi di salute anche se di poco conto. O il cameriere non sa fare il proprio mestiere o non gli è stato insegnato nemmeno l'ABC del suo lavoro, e allora è la proprietà che è incompetente al di là di tanta immagine e fumo e chiacchiere. Siccome in piazza le alternative sicuramente non mancano, qui non mi vedono più. Poi però non date la colpa alla crisi se un domani il lavoro vi manca eh? Perché se semini male, poi...

Great restaurant and bar on the corner of the main Piazza in Vincenzo.. Staff was friendly and very personable. We had the fried eggplant, baked in a tomato sauce, as an entree (listed under appetizers) and the lasagna bolognese, both were excellent. Then finished off with the Almond cake which was more like a warm chocolate cake with bits of almond in it, with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream... and a couple of caffe machiattos.. All delish at reasonable prices.. Glad we found this cozy little restaurant on our last...
