Very beautiful restaurant, however the food could be a a lot better. Ordered chicken tempura and vegetables and it was very greasy, it was like lip gloss was left behind on my lips. Also, the batter was not that good. The complimentary bread was very tasty and soft. The complimentary chips taste very bland, lacking salt. My wife ordered the risotto and she had a shells in her plate. We knew it was shrimp in the dish but not with shells hidden in the risotto, so she stopped eating that. The drinks were ok. The waitresses hover way too much, they hovered to the point of discomfort. Oh, not to mention one of the waitresses while I’m literally eating the bread with my olive oil red wine salt pepper combo waiting on our food grabs my plate WHILE IM EATING OFF OF IT. I said I’m still using that she said your food is about to come out (which after that took 15 mins after to receive) I give her a look of displeasure because it was a back and forth for her to put the plate back down that I just didn’t want it anymore. We left hungry and very dissatisfied with our dinner on our anniversary and we spent $70. A gentleman asked us how was everything , well the two women prior and we just didn’t say anything but then he asked and we just told him. We weren’t trying to complain and he said no you should tell us that. Us as Americans are like eh we don’t know how you guys operate and don’t want to make it a big deal but since you keep asking we’ll be honest. He apologized for our experience, me not even mentioning the waitress and the issue with her and my plate, however he told I guess big man in the front and he didn’t acknowledge us or apologize or take anything off the bill but told us how much we owed lol crazy. I see what people mean when they say be careful with these restaurants. If you’re looking for good food, don’t go there. The service was immaculate until that waitress. Will definitely not...
Read moreGarzadori! Wow! Beautiful environment indoors and outdoors; there is a romantic outside seating area for the warmer months that you can not miss! The service is outstanding, and the menu is full of options that seasonally change. FUN! I love the pumpkin options now for the fall! I never had a meal that I did not like here. For ANTIPASTI we love the, Seared duck breast, parsnip cream and tawny port sauce, and the Yolk infused with truffle and la casara with white mousse cheese. For the PRIMI we really love the Paccheri au gratin stuffed with duck sauce, pumpkin cream, smoked ricotta and parmesan wafer with thyme! Also, the home made ricotta gnocco, porcini cream with truffle flakes, and shiitake mushrooms are wonderful as well! For the SECONDI, we love the, Creekstone Farm’s black angus steak with Tarassaco chicory and roasted potatoes, Lacquered Iberian pork ribs with bergamot and maple syrup, the Seared Mediterranean octopus with smoked mashed potatoes, and the French rack of wild boar with mashed pumpkin and Jerusalem artichoke chips. The HAMBURGERS are done well, and the salad, CAPRESE is a classic and so good! I tried a CRUNCHY—the Double Crunch—stuffed with mortadella Pedrazzoli, smoked burrata cheese, and pistachio pesto, and it was just right! For the DOLCI, I would go with the classic, Tiramisù flavoured with fava Tonka or the Creamy chocolate Gianduia, Pumpkin cream heart, spicy pumpkin sauce, and cocoa gruè. This spot will not disappoint; it is near the heart of downtown Vicenza, Italy. Make a reservation if you can and try their espresso martini! Here are our recent...
Read moreThis place has a huge front of the house issue. I showed up, alone, to a 1/4 filled building and was seated in basically the main hallway with a nice view of the washrooms (across from someone else who was also alone at another table, maybe that's just where they put singles...). Anyway, I asked to sit in the dinning room instead, but was told it was all reserved (it clearly wasn't as only one group showed up for it during the time I was there). So, after being given a piece of plastic with a QR code on it so I can see the menu (yep no physical menus unless you are old probably) I ordered. During the entire time I was eating I was witness to the most hilariously chaotic front of the house ever. There were four guys running around, each going to almost every room. At one point some sort of "incident" occurred (pretty sure someone just orderred champagne) and suddenly they all stopped what they were doing and focused on that. During this time a group of four women came in and asked to have a table. They were then made to wait for about 20 minutes while various servers dealt with other things. At no point did my originally server ask if I needed anything and after asking one of the others for the bill (my server was awol) it didn't show up and I had to wait another 10 minutes to see my original server so I could get the bill. If I could have given a negative tip I would have. The one star is for the food, because it was actually...
