Gallo Salumeria & Cucina — Restaurant in Vietri sul Mare

Given a cramped table next to the open kitchen. Watched the waitress fill a water bottle from the tap (2 euros), someone handling the till then cutting bread without hand washing, staff in kitchen putting food in their mouths whilst cooking and stacking dirty glasses and plates, etc. into the food preparation area. I watched pasta out of a packet being cooked (18 euros) and a microwave in constant use. The chicken was served with microwaved, lukewarm, greasy vegetables (13 euros). If you must use a microwave, at least learn to use it properly! Yesterday evening we wanted to drink something before dinertime with five persons . Was no problem so we popped in . We ordered two wines, a water and 3 soft drinks . When we asked for the bill they wanted to let us pay 33 euro's!!! That was not according the prices on the list . They put 10 euro's extra for couvert ( knife and fork ) . That was 10 euro's extra without using knife and fork . So we claimed this and then they skipped the extra costs silently . They just try to screw tourists if they can . So avoid this place or...

The restaurant from the outside looks warm, romantic and welcoming. However, with the first step inside the shop everything is reversed. Inhospitable environment, uninviting and cold. The food is poor in quality and as if it just came out of the microwave. It is unacceptable to ask for bottled water twice and be brought tap water for a charge of 2 euros. I give it 1 star only because the only wine on the list is quite remarkable. I do not recommend...
