MAT — Restaurant in Viterbo

My partner and I absolutely adore this restaurant. It is one of our all time favourites from all of our travels! The attention to detail on all fronts is what makes it so special and soulful! The quality of the food and wine is exceptional, the decor is stylish and the atmosphere is wonderful. The service is also exceptional and you can tell that the owner Mauro is a master of his craft! We really recommend visiting if you are anywhere near Viterbo. We can’t wait to return!...

We were so pleased with the food, the service and the atmosphere at il MAT.

Our food was delicious and we were lucky enough to have a delightful server who did her very best to explain menu items and help us decide on the best choices for what we wanted.

We enjoyed the location as it was a few steps out of the main thoroughfare and so peaceful. The music provided set the perfect mood.

MAT was one of the first places I went to eat while in Viterbo, and each dish was always well made and delicious. My italian is only mid-level, and they speak some English and were patient with us when we tried to communicate in Italian as well. The people working there were always friendly, and I even discovered my new favorite aperitivo thanks to them-- The Hugo!
