This restaurant was apparently recommended by the famous Italian chef Alessandro Borghese, but honestly, it was a letdown.
The service was shockingly slow and unprofessional. First, the waitress couldn’t even open a bottle for us and asked us to do it ourselves. Each dish took about an hour to arrive. While waiting, there’s no WiFi, and the small table games they provide don’t help much to pass the time. When we asked for a pen, the waitress threw it on the table—extremely rude.
The food was okay but far from what I expected from a celebrity recommendation. The pasta was soggy, and I can’t understand why it took an hour to cook. Were they starting from grinding wheat into flour to make the pasta from scratch?
Just because a celebrity says it’s good doesn’t mean it actually is—especially if it’s recommended by Alessandro Borghese. I’d have my doubts before...
Read moreWe ordered chicken and it was like leather. It was obviously reheated. A salad consisting of lettuce and a scattering of tomatoes cost five euros. Apart from giving us the menu and carrying the food to the table, there was no service. The waitress was dour and we waited ages to find someone to get the bill. The toilet was filthy and if we had seen that first, there is no way we would have stayed. When we tried to tell the manager that the toilets needed attention in a helpful way, and that the chicken was reheated, she actually admitted that it was - the translation would be "cooked many times". She started shouting at us and was very abusive. I would not recommend this restaurant at all, as a matter of fact, I would recommend tourists stay...
Read moreThe two stars are mainly for the poor lady who served us and who was very polite. She was let down by the food which was served. A major point of dissatisfaction was the fact that the starter and main course was served within minutes of each other not giving us the chance to finish the first course. The reason was because the kitchen was closing...and yet they thought it OK not to mention this when we asked for a table. The starters were nothing spectacular with chips served as part of the fried bites. The chicken looked like it had been reheated with olive oil used to add moisture. Think hard before sitting down, it is a lovely location but the food does not match...
