Finding vegetarian/vegan options in Kannawa can be challenging, but the restaurants offering steamed food are a good option. Note that you should either go on the earliest side of lunch or make a reservation in advance because the more popular/well-known places fill up very quickly and have hour plus waits for a table. We couldn’t get into any of the more well-known places and eventually found this shop that has a small steamed food restaurant attached to it.

They offer a steamed vegetable plate for vegetarians/vegans, plus onsen eggs and steamed pudding that comes in a cute little egg cup for those who eat eggs and dairy.

There are tons of options for meat/seafood eaters. See the attached pics for...

I tried their Steamed Assorted Seafood (shrimp, scallops, and salmon) for ¥1,298 with tax. It was so fresh and delicious. The staff were very friendly, they allowwed us to see the process of the steamed food. There are also different kind of sauce, or spice that we can choose for eating with.
