Quiet atmosphere. We came around 17:30 and we were the only customer. They have English menu and you have to order your food from a ticket vending machine. It took them 25 minutes for them to prepare all the food. I was little disappointed at the Beppu cold noodles.

ひょうたん温泉の飲食棟２階にあるお食事処。 大分郷土料理「とり天」「だんご汁」や別府鉄輪温泉名物・温泉の蒸気で魚介類や肉・野菜を蒸しあげる（地獄釜）「地獄蒸し料理」が食べられる。 ビール酵母で育てた豊後ハマチ「若武者」の海鮮丼を注文。 桶の器に薄切りのハマチがごはんが見えないくらい引き詰められている何とも映える一品。 薄切りの割には脂が乗っており、卵黄と混ぜるとまろやかに。 最後にわさびを乗せ、出汁をかけてお茶漬け風に。 個人的にはそのまま海鮮丼として食べた方が美味しかったかな。 デザートにはひょうたん温泉名物「地獄の窯出しプリン」をオーダー。 これも温泉の蒸気を使って毎日作っているとのこと。 まろやかで優しい舌触り、旨い！ ただ「ここでしか食べられない」と謳ってはいるが、海地獄「地獄蒸し焼きプリン」や岡本屋売店「元祖地獄蒸しプリン」、甘味茶屋桃たろう「ゆけむりプリン」など別府市内には30種類以上の『地獄蒸しプリン』があるよう。

You simply must visit the restaurant! The food is insane. Every dish deserves praise. Sets with local delicacies, hamachi in a special soy sauce, sashimi bowls, great curry, and regional flat noodle soups- all just fantastic. It does not only tasts great, but it is also served like in graded restaurans.

This cannot be missed while in Beppu. Onsen & Yurari restaurant- thanks for these...

The jigoku set meal was wonderful, including some of the very best tofu I’ve ever had.

The big cushy seats and jazz music (and being shoeless!) added to the relaxed onsen vibe. Note that Google Maps will not direct you accurately – you must walk through the onsen entrance to...
