This was one of the highlights of our trip when visiting the hot springs. We got a discount due to visiting one of the hot springs which makes it more affordable and worth the money. Read moreAn interactive museum that provides a unique insight into onsen from both a geological and geographical perspective. I was fascinated to learn that onsen water takes 50 years to travel through the earth before reaching the surface! The exhibits are engaging, and the information is presented in a clear and accessible way. If you're planning to visit an onsen, stopping by here first will deepen your appreciation of the science behind Japan’s hot springs.
