Took a coffee break at this cafe during a walk around the Kannawa neighborhood. The art gallery is closed currently to facilitate renovation to build a boutique hotel next door. However the cafe n shop is still operating. The host spoke English n explained the products in the shop n we had a good conversation on the history of the building that housed the cafe. It has a nice library/ reading area on the second floor but there is a jpy 550 charge per person if u wa to use it. The charge allows you to relax/rest in there for up to 3 hours. Drinks n cakes are available at...

It was snowing when we went there. The atmosphere and garden were quaint and elegant. It was very quiet so we were able to relax. Since the building is old, insulation is not great and can be cold near the window (they have blankets and heaters). A cake and a pie we ordered were delicious. My American buddy absolutely loved this place. I strongly recommend their dessert. Not sure if you can eat upstairs, but you should look around because interior...
