Blue Seal Chatan — Restaurant in Chatan

This Blue Seal outlet is amazingly decorated, and it was my first try at the legendary Blue Seal ice cream ever!

🤩Must try: Loved the apple pie here, topped with the vanilla ice cream, it’s an absolute showstopper. A simple and classic combination, Blue Seal doesn’t stray too far with its rendition: with its flaky, light, apple pie, that is perfectly balanced with the creamy vanilla ice cream.

Other ice cream flavours not to be missed are the Beni-imo (purple sweet potato), as well as the Okinawan Salt Cookies flavours. They are really done excellently, with the flavours being pronounced and authentic, with excellent texture.

🙂 Can try: Blue Wave looks great for the ’gram, but it tastes a little too artificial for me. The flavour reminds me of a soda, it is a “fun”, and somewhat refreshing flavour, but the depth is not quite developed.

The atmosphere has a bit of a retro diner feel. Out of the blue seals to visit, this is the one you would go to for the environment. Most of the others are more standard. They have things to take photo ops with inside and out

The ice cream itself is fine. It's not super premium, but it's a good decent chain. Pricing is really good with the yen rate. Compared to back home, I feel like inflation in north America is worse for food costs so it's really nice coming here for a treat. We got a banana split that was under 1000 yen. The portion size was perfect for me. I've ordered ice cream from here before and forgot to do my review. It's a pretty consistent place. It's kind of like a must visit place for someone new in town, due to the local chain, it's popularity, and again, out of the locations this is one of the more impressive ones

First time trying this location and I must say it was an awesome experience. I've tried the ice cream before but at a mall. This location is so cute and clean. It was actually pretty empty for a Saturday afternoon. I tried the pistachio almond flavor this time and it's an absolute no for me. So I then went back up and purchased the Okinawa salted one and omg that flavor is so good. I've also tried the vanilla and cookies and that flavor was good as well.
