My stay wasn’t bad, but it was a little odd. I stayed for five nights in the 21st floor. On the first morning the phone in my room rang a lot starting at 5:50 am. When I answered no one was there. It got so bad that by 6am I kept the phone off the hook to prevent anymore calls from coming through. I wanted to go swimming, but I saw the pool did not allow for “big” & “excessive” tattoos. Those terms are vague & my tattoos are small, so I just went to the beach. I know it’s Japan & they think all Yakuza have tattoos, so to ban Yakuza you must ban tattoos—this logic is flawed & archaic. I also don’t have a do not disturb sign for my door & one day a magnet do not disturb sign appeared under the map on my door. Both my husband & I thought this was odd. The hotel room was pretty basic with just two beds, an entertainment area, balcony with foggy glass, & a bathroom with a private bathing area. The carpet in the room is a little stained, some of the wallpaper is coming off/ marks on the walls, and parts of the bathroom floor were stained black. It also took like a minute for the lights in the room to fully turn on. Besides these little hiccups the room was big, WiFi is free, & the shower works well. I would suggest taking off all earrings before entering or at least putting the drain plug in the tub first. The water pressure blew mine off my ears, but luckily I had the plug in the tub so I didn’t lose any jewelry. The hotel is within walking distance to American Village, & the staff is nice & friendly for not being entirely gaijin welcoming—at least compared to other places I’ve stayed at in Japan. A cute little plus is during my stay they had a little owl in the lobby. The parking here is also very tight & it’s extremely hard to take 20kg luggage up the second floor of the parking structure & there's not really a space to pull the car over in. My husband parked in the circle by the main lobby & was told to move his car when others who were checking in/ checking out didn’t have this issue—at least that’s what I noticed throughout my stay. It’s a cheap hotel with good WiFi & that’s the only reason why I am not giving this place a one star. The card system to the rooms is updated, much like the phones in room. If they updated the place & fixed it up it would...
Read moreThis hotel has the most gorgeous view of the ocean by far. The service staff is very attentive and does a great job. There is a free breakfast included and the hotel is right next to the American Village, which is an amazing area for shops and restaurants. ||The downside of any Japanese hotel is they charge a substantial extra fee for additional guests and most rooms have two twin beds unlike the hotels in the states where you usually can at least get two queen beds or a King Size Bed. We were charged $250 for an upgrade to a King size Suite at this resort and an extra $375 for two vs one person for 4 nights. The BIGGEST downside is this hotel is very very old and has not been refurbished in a LONG time. The furniture, walls, doors, floors, all very scratched and worn. Many doors in the common areas are disintegrated from the salt in the ocean.. lots of rust and peeled paint. The lighting in the rooms is very scant and dim, Especially the bathroom. You can see well during the day due to the daylight through windows, but nighttime lighting is very poor. Also there’s only a few electrical outlets for charging electronics ||They did have AC units mounted in each room that worked well and the curtains do darken the room well if you need to sleep...
