Usually I don’t post negative reviews, but so sad today that I had a quite bad experience here. The owner of this cafe is unbelievably disrespectful. It was my fav cafe shop since I moved into this area but not anymore due to the owner’s attitude...The owner, who is a Japanese lady around 40s, seems to not respect the customer at all.
Here’s the detail - One time a staff told me that the shop is not busy after 10am, usually it’s busy at early morning time. So I decide to come here around 10-11:30am on weekdays, and to have a quick coffee after running on weekends. Today is Friday and I came here to do remote work at 10am. I ordered an L size latte as usual, after that, I ordered a french toast plate around 11 am, then the owner said to me “customers are not supposed to stay long and use computer during busy time. Especially weekends, Military families with kids are coming and waiting outside for seats under hot weather. So please don’t stay long during busy time”. She approached me with a grumpy face. I was confused why she told me right after I ordered a meal, there are still many available seats and 3 group of customers at that time. “Today is Friday, besides I never use computer and stay long during my weekend visit at this cafe shop”- I just told her that. The reason why I said that is to make sure if she is talking about weekends and busy time but she ignored and came back to the kitchen.. Before that, I asked the other staff if tmr is open because tmr is Japanese holiday, but I wanted to buy latte after running. Prob she heard from the staff and she doesn’t want me to come to the shop again... The French toast plate I ordered came out with no taste at all after this conversation, I just felt so sad since the other staffs are awesome but not the owner..
I understand it’s is very hard time to run this kind of business especially during Covid. But B to C business shouldn’t be like that, I would expect no one to experience such conversation like I had today.. The lady should mention “No computer” on the wall if she doesn’t want to have customer who use computer, and she can mention “Seating is limited to __minutes” during BUSY periods. I just felt unwelcome and unfair treatment by her attitude..
I really liked her shop concepts, menu, interior and two other staffs’ awesome services tho. I hope the owner will take my review into consideration and see it as a constructive criticism so that the other customers can enjoy their experiences to...
Read moreStrange and disappointing experience. After craving a cream cheese bagel for over a week I decided to come here and satisfy my cravings.
My friend had already been and said that he was given butter instead of cream cheese but I came armed with a photograph of what it should look like to ensure there was no mistranslation.
The owner showed me what they had and it looked about right so I said yes please I’ll have a bagel and a large coffee.
After I realised they had only charged me for the coffee I went back to ask about the bagel and make clear that I wanted to order one.
The response was “no thank you” over and over despite my insistence that I wanted to eat.
Saying ‘thank you’ did not make it less rude. I was treated coldly and ended up paying for a coffee that I only wanted alongside food.
There was no offer or suggestion to order something else and looking at other reviews it wouldn’t be the first time this lady has been rude. Perhaps from mainland Japan as this was the first bad service I’ve...
Read moreThis seems to be the go to place where people asks me to meet them. It's really close to kadena air base, just outside gate 1. I've been slowly exploring the menu as I go.
I did a smoothie the first time which was interesting. It had an extra flavor that I couldn't pin point. 4 stars The second time I did the Elvis sandwich 5 stars. It's not cheap, but it's indulgent. This time I did the pancake breakfast. 4 stars. Pretty standard fare. Mine was with the bacon (choice was that or spam)
You are not supposed to park on the street. You can get ticketed. The owner/workers will redirect you if you try to park in front of the building. They are doing it so you don't get ticketed. They have some spots you can park on the side. It is slightly annoying though since if someone needs to get out you'll need to move your car, but it's better than getting a ticket .
I've only paid by yen here so unsure if they take...
