Small standing sushi bar in the public area of New Chitose’s domestic terminal. When I joined the queue I wasn’t sure if it was going to be worth the wait, but it was!

The seafood is generally very fresh and very generously sliced. The chutoro and amaebi were sublime. The scallop was h u g e (in fact a bit too fresh for me, as I prefer them creamier and less crunchy). Anyway, I enjoyed everything I ordered and I appreciated the variety in their menu — they even had kanpyo maki, which I ordered for kicks! The sushi rice was nicely balanced. My only complaint is that sometimes the chef went a bit heavy on the wasabi, but I suppose it was great for my sinuses.

Atmosphere was fine — I mean it’s a standing sushi bar in the corner of the airport. Also, it is for precisely that reason that the premium quality of their food was exceptionally mindblowing.

Service — Polite and prompt. There’s no English menu but there are photos of every dish. The queue moves relatively fast, and by 2pm on a weekday there was barely anyone lining up. During peak periods, you also have to wait a bit longer for your food as the chef makes each sushi on the spot, but even then they’re clearly moving as quickly as they can.

Last but not least, price for quality is miles better than anything you could get in Singapore. I spent 3,750 yen in total, but if you order the fancier sushi (like oysters or more hon maguro) you can expect to spend more.

Overall, I’d recommend this place to my friends and family if they’re around the airport and not rushing for a flight. I wouldn’t queue two hours for this, but half an hour?...

Who knew that the best sushi in this trip would be at the airport???? My second standing sushi bar experience and this is literally 10 times better than an actual omakase because it’s not too pricey.

My personal favs:

Sweet prawns 600 yen 🦐. They were so sweet and soft it was so good

Aburi salmon 🍣 it was surprisingly crispy because of the rendered fat which made it melt in your mouth. Def the best salmon sushis I’ve had.

Runny ikura sushi 550 yen. It’s super creamy and completely different from the actual ikura I highly recommend

The tamago is so sweet it’s like biting into a sponge cake. They have truly mastered tamago.

Overall better value than omakase, fresh fish, stand up sushi bar, the whole experience is there for a better price. I would DEFINITELY come here...

One of the best sushi places (yes, in an airport, before security check). And for its price, probably the best sushi I’ve had. Line stops at 6:45pm and they close at 7:30pm. We came two times on our Sapporo trip. Things we tried that we really liked: fatty tuna (although first visit was better than second visit), uni, torched salmon, crab butter, whelk (the cheap one). There’s only 10-12 standing spots and you order on tablet. You watch the sushi chef make your order in front of you. I think both visits we were in n out within 45min, line...

Best sushi for airport travel, one of the most fresh sushis I ever had. Unfortunately the menu and staffs don't speak english, but the buttons are easy to understand and any native sushi eater is able to pick their favorites with pictures. That torched aburi is excellent and memorable. Will be around 4-5K yen per person for a full meal. Typically a long line on average of 30 mins. We went there at closing hours and only had to wait 5 mins. Standing next to your group is difficult, this is quite the "solo" journey and experience.
