I came here at around 11am on a weekday and there was no one! Do come earlier as around 12pm, the local students get off school and will fill up the seats very quickly.

Forget Ichiran - when I reached the queue was up to 2 hours 😱. Come here instead!

I had a the standard tonkotsu ramen with egg. Compared to other ramen restaurants in Fukuoka, I feel the broth is definitely heavier and thicker. It might be overwhelming for those who are sensitive the smell of pork, but if you like it I think this is perfect for you.

They grill the chasiu right as your order goes in. It gives it a very nice smoky taste. I loved the spicy black fungus on the table! It complemented the ramen well, and I think if you wanted a bit of spice you could add that into the soup for an additional dimension.

Also worth noting that the egg here is definitely heavier in terms of the saltiness of the shoyu - more akin to those you find in typical ramen restaurants in Southeast Asia. This is in contrast to most standard ramen restaurants in Fukuoka, where the shoyu-marinate saltiness of the yolk is not emphasized.

I felt very welcome as a foreigner as well.

Thank you for...

we got the prawn soup base and was pleasantly surprised that the prawn flavour was fragrant yet light (so you're less likely to get tired of the broth). the chashu is also really yummy (wished we ordered more chashu at the end).

the interior was clean and well-maintained, the shop looks quite new with modern and sleek decor. there are only counter seats and we had to wait for a while (arnd 10mins) although we came at around 2.30pm. but the food is definitely worth the wait! large groups should probably avoid the peak hours.

staff were welcoming and friendly, it was a...

Came here because Ichiran was full and required a 2hr wait. But frankly, I think the ramen here is pretty good! The premium version comes with lots of different types of meat. Probably the most ive seen in a bowl of japanese ramen.

The prawn base ramen was good, but felt like it was lacking depth and could be a little thicker for ramen. I would probably have gone with the tonkotsu ramen instead.

Otherwise, i find that its a reallt good...

Come early to avoid queues. It is a tiny ramen shop just across Dazaifu station. Prices are quite OK considering you get to see everything happening in the kitchen. This was also hands down the best ramen I had in Fukuoka. The chashu was cooked to perfection and the broth was thick and flavorful. Do add in the spicy kikurage to add some kick to your ramen. The vibes was nice and chill, until a large group of tourists came in. So do come early!
