I’m regularly reminded after biting into omurice why it hasn’t been as good as it was when my made it when I was young. You bite into what’s under the attractive egg and it’s basically nothing. It’s rice with a tinge of ketchup or some other favor which barely makes it better.
The restaurant isn’t horrible, but it’s a chain and so it’s hard to be special. The employees probably don’t have much to be happy about. They were as happy as they could be.
The value was relatively low too. I paid 2057 yen for the medium sized crab croquette omurice. Frankly, there was no crab inside the croquette - just some puss-ey’ish cheesy thing that wouldn’t even beat velveeta. The drink tasted good, but there was barely any of it. And the salad was barely a few leaves.

Ordered the creamy prawn (no. 3 on tourist list) and the egg plant tomato thing. Both of are exactly what you’d expect in an average store. Free drinks on presenting passport, while...
Read moreWe came across this restaurant which basically serves omelette wrapped rice with myriad different toppings like curry, roe, etc etc. They have it in small medium or large portions, to be safe, we went for medium which we find just right. We saw a guy who ordered large and frankly we are horrified by that amount of rice. Tbh, we find the food quite nice (must be hungry) 😉 as usual, the 🇯🇵 curry isn’t at all spicy. But the omelette is cooked very well 👍🏻 miso soup is free and ain’t bad either 😝 it’s at a corner of one part of the mazy Canal City Mall. Ample seats available...
