It is a Buddhist Temple of the Pure Land Sect, located in Gion district of the Hakata. Most tourists may not have many opportunities to see the religious decorations, facilities and deities of the Temple, but, surely, they will have chances to see the Black Cat who is sitting or walking around at the Main Gate of the Temple.

博多の街中、博多通りから国体道路に突き当たる正面、大きな金色 の沢瀉の紋を配した立派な山門が目を引く浄土真宗本願寺派の寺

山門を抜けると石畳が整然と続く広い境内 本堂の屋根には凄味のある鬼瓦 手水舎側のピラカンサの鮮やかな赤色は暗い色調の境内で、見事なコントラスト 年の瀬のお参りに趣きを添えてくれました

大きな法要がなければ境内に駐車出来るのは便利ですが 法要期間は、門前の駐車待ちで国体道路が渋滞するので公共交通機関の利用がお薦めです

山門脇の受付で出迎えてくれる看板猫、すり寄ってはくれませんが、姿だけでも癒される人気者
