This Edo-style sushi omakase restaurant came highly recommended by friends and we came with high expectations.

The seating was cozy. The chef and his wife were friendly and chatty.

The food: a lot of dishes that were served quickly - way too quickly. The sushi and the other dishes were perfectly fine, however, at this price point we expected more than fine, we wanted to be surprised. In fact, I can’t recall which dish was the highlight of the meal.

The quantity of food was generous and perhaps was the main factor behind our friend’s recommendation. However, our biggest discontent was the speed at which the dishes were served. The appetizer was served at 6:11pm and dessert at 7:43pm - rapid fire 90 minutes in which all the food was served. Several times through the meal, the next sushi came before the previous one had been eaten. Honestly, I would prefer reducing the amount of food for a more comfortable dining experience.

At almost JPY 30,000 per person (including sake), it was somewhat...

Our best meal in Fukuoka. This was an intimate experience with a sushi master of 49 years, with 8 total people dining. Both the sushi master and his wife delivered 5-star hospitality and the friendly master went as far as to use Google Translate to communicate with us, both about each piece of fish or dish, as well as to learn more about each other. He went above and beyond to make our experience special. We learned that he originally had a restaurant in Kagoshima, where the proprietress is originally from, before moving to Fukuoka.

The food was delicious and satisfying to eat. I love that he shared so much information about what we were eating. He even includes a dish that his wife came up with and dessert she makes. We would go back here in a heartbeat next time...

The Omakase was absolutely amazing!! delicious, generous, and beautifully presented! Each dish was prepared with great care, and the sushi chef kindly introduced every dish. Even if you don’t understand Japanese, the chef thoughtfully use a translation device to explain everything, which makes the experience so warm, friendly and enjoyable. A truly wonderful and memorable dining experience, highly recommended! There aren’t many seats (only counter seats), Make sure to reserve in advance, it’s...
