I'm writing this review 10 minutes after eating here because I can't wait. I don't usually write reviews but I just had to write one for this place. We came upon this shop by pure chance. "Must have Chicken" was a very interesting naming choice.
We were greeted with a warm smile and open tables. The host was very welcoming. We were recommended the summer special Tantanmen with karaage. My friend ordered it while I had the chicken steak.
When I say this was the best chicken steak I had, I mean it. It was the perfect amount of crisp and juicy. The onion sauce that came with the steak just elevated that steak from a 10/10 to a 100/10! My only complain is that the chicken was so good that by the time I regained my senses, it was already gone.
I could do nothing but just sit down and stare at my empty plate trying to process the fact that all the other chicken I would have from this day forward would absolutely pale in comparison.
Then I saw the little pudding cups in the display case next to the counter. I asked if those were made at the store itself and they said that those were prepared every morning by themselves.
We just had to try it. Especially since one was just 165 yen! When they said that they made it with just egg yolks and heavy cream, I was expecting it to be a sweet chilled treat. I was not expecting a thick, rich, brûlée like pudding that gave my body a jolt of energy in the first bite. I couldn't believe that something so good had to end so quickly. When, not if, you come to this shop, DO NOT FORGET TO ORDER THE PUDDING. If you like pudding, I bet my next 2 generations that you'll love this. The pudding was so good that I believe they should have changed the name of their shop to "Must have chicken and pudding" but in hindsight "Masuchikipu" doesn't sound good.
A 10/10 rare find, if you love chicken, you'll love this shop.
Next time you go there, tell the couple who run the shop about how much...
Read moreWe wanted something that was a little different on our last day in Fukuoka, and found this shop as it had good reviews on Google. No English menu, but ordering is through an ipad and easy with Google translate. Their mains also come with photos. The service staff also did their best, despite the language barrier.
The roasted chicken is a must try, it’s also their signature; both varieties are tender and flavorful, and the dish is served hot. If you come with 2 people, you can probably order half and half, and still finish the food. We also got the “ufo cheese fondue”. It was also delicious as the chicken is seasoned well, and the skin is relatively crispy.
We left feeling full...
Read moreI had their rice burgers every morning while staying at the Oriental Express Hotel in Tenjin. Once dine in and the other times I just picked it up with the vouchers. They’re really good— the seasoning is great, the texture of the rice, veggies and meat are great, and it’s served piping hot. I think that I like theirs more than the Mos Burger version. The dine on experience was nice and they have self service drinks. Did not get the chance to visit anytime aside from breakfast but would if I were to visit Fukuoka again. The staff are great and easy to communicate with as well. I think they understood very well, and if they didn’t— they did a great job not showing it. Highly...
