We’d read reviews before dining here and expected to wait a while for our meal. But it was two hours after we arrived at the restaurant that we finally received our sushi order. By this point we were too hungry to enjoy the food. Customers who arrived after us were served first and finished before our sushi arrived. The family next to us, who were also waiting two hours, left before receiving their sushi. The food here is good quality but it is not worth the unacceptably long wait. In two hours the chef managed to serve only two customers. I’ve lived in Japan 17 years and have visited many small family sushi restaurants. It never takes this long to make sushi. One hour would be ok but two hours is ridiculous. This restaurant ruined our Christmas Day leaving us hungry and annoyed.
In addition I find the owner’s comment below insulting. My annoyance at being made to wait two hours had nothing to do with visiting the restaurant with my seven year old. He was happily drawing the whole time. The owner is just making excuses and it’s very insulting using a child to cover up for poor service.
It doesn’t take any other restaurant that serves fresh sushi and makes it to order two hours. I’ve visited many sushi restaurants. This is a nonsense reply.
The staff could serve the sushi piece by piece but they don’t. They seem to think they are doing you a favour letting you eat at...
Read moreCelebrated my partner's birthday there and made our reservations via JPNEAZY and paid JPY 1600 Yen just for the reservation. We did that because it was a Tuesday and most restraunts closes on Tuesday. Also when booking via this app, the only option you have is to select the omakase meal.
If it is entirely up to me, i will definitely go for their ala carte menu. Their uni sushi and gs grilled cod fish was delicious.
Omakase is 11,000 yen per person and personally i dont think it is worth the value. Started off with a simple ABC soup, then a plate of ordinary selection of sashimi, honestly i was so underwhelmed when i saw the sashimi. Next came the grilled cod fish, ok that was delicious, put a smile back on my face. After that was a piece of oyster, it was fresh. Then came a delicacy, cod fish sperm sac and finally a plate of sushi, the uni was the best, the rest of the sushi were ordinary selection like chutoro instead of otoro.
We picked a bottle of limited brewery sake, cost 9000 yen, it was decent.
Overall i will revisit but definitely opt...
Read moreCozy little sushi restaurant. We can't speak Japanese but we managed to communicate thanks to the friendly staff who do their best to make you feel at home.
Before we were seated, we were informed that they only accept cash, menus are in Japanese only, and there is only a single chef preparing all the orders, so all customers please kindly be patient and wait for the food. No problem for us using Google Translate. We even tried to order items that are off the menu. The wait time was fine as we enjoyed watching the chef preparing the orders and interacting with the staff and other diners.
We ordered the sashimi platter and some nigiri. You can see the chef paying attention to every part of the preparation. The presentation of the dish was beautiful and it tasted great.
Will definitely dine here again the next time we...
