My wife and I were staying in Yokosuka for a few days, and on a rainy, windy day decided to take the ferry to Kanaya. It was lunch time, and we were walking through town looking for a place that was less crowded than the restaurants that are adjacent to the ferry dock.
My wife noticed the sign for Al Porto Cafe, so we decided to try it and we were so glad we did. Our tortellini was fresh and made by hand, as was the sauce. Perfectly cooked (al dente) with wonderful flavor. The tiramisu was also made by the owner/chef, with fresh strawberries. She made us some wonderful coffee to accompany our meal as well. We had a nice conversation with her, and learned some of her history. She is from Italy and met her husband when they were both attending an English as a Second Language school in New York. His family lives in the Kanaya area, so they decided to open this restaurant in his home town. In fact, his mother was helping in the restaurant.
