Hoshizora — Restaurant in Gifu

This shop gave us an unexpected surprise dining experience. We arrived at 9pm and there was no one inside the shop. The lady gave us a warm welcome and we started to make orders. We ordered 明太子egg roll, deep fried chicken and ramen. They are all basic stuff as we want to have a quick meal and went to bed after a long day travel. Surprisingly, the egg roll and fried chicken were so good. Probably the best one I have after leaving 福岡。Chicken were so crispy and tender. The Salt Ramen and Miso Ramen came at last, they were also exceptional good, completely different from those standard ramen in ramen shop. The chef (I guess is the husband) first fried a lot of cabbage with pork, then add the soup together before serving with the noodle. I can see the heart that he put for the cooking. After dinner, we drank beer and chat with the lady and her husband. They have opened this shop for 20years. I told them that I really like the wall paper, in fact, they are the sake labels that they sticked them one by one by themselves. At last, they gave us a very lovely lantern. To be franked, this is the most enjoyable meals during my 5 days trip in 中部。I hope I can visit this shop at least one more time...

Very cozy shop run by two very kind and friendly owners! We had a few beers and ordered the stamina ramen (which is garlic lovers paradise), the shoyu ramen, and chicken skin gyoza.
