The old townscape of Kawaramachi — Attraction in Gifu

The old town of Kawaramachi has a peaceful and nostalgic charm, with beautifully preserved traditional buildings and quiet streets reminiscent of Kyoto’s Gion District.

This townscape has a quaint charm. I was there in the early afternoon on a weekday and it was very quiet. You don’t really see people in that area which is very ideal if you just want to peacefully admire the architecture. There isn’t much to do there so you will probably spend just about half an hour or so...

Another surprise and while not as big an area of old buildings as takayama , it has a lot less tourists. The location is close to the ropeway (about 10 20 mins walk) there's a nice river walk close by and toilets are at the river end. I did see a bus there but can't recall if it was...
