焼いてくれる生ラムジンギスカン — Restaurant in Hakodate

We wanted to try Genghis Khan BBQ and support a small local restaurant in Hakodate. We acknowledged the sign at the front about speaking Japanese and before my husband (who can speak basic Japanese) could say anything - the older lady took one glance at his gaijin face and closed the door. I laughed in disbelief 🤣🤣🤣

We found a much more welcoming restaurant with younger staff that used apps to communicate just 1 minute walk away called 箱館ジンギスカン 羊の家 for our Hakodate...

We popped open the door, the lady took one look at us, assumed we don't speak Japanese and said "no entry" (my wife is Asian and my children half, how would she know?). She could have said f you it would have been the same to us. While I appreciate the freedom to serve anyone whom you please and not to serve whom you don't want to, I'm also free to find this despicable and discriminatory. 函館ジンギスカンがどこの店舗も満席だった際、調べて見ると一番最初に出てくる高評価なお店を発見!「ここも混んでるかな…」と思いつつもダメ元で電話してみると空席なのですぐ行けますとの事。 コイツはラッキーと早速店舗へ突入。駅か2、3分の路地にあるのは、お姉様がおひとりで切り盛りなさっている小さなお店。 店内に入ると2人掛けのテーブルが4つと4人がけのテーブルが1つ。 聞くとここはセット注文andワンドリンク制らしく、私はライスなしのセット(韓国海苔と白菜キムチのうち韓国海苔)とりんごジュースを頂きました。 頼んだ後数分ですぐに第一弾のジンギスカンと野菜が投入された！肉と野菜をセットし火を付け終えると、「後でまた来ますから、待っててください」と一言。言われるがまま待っていると他のお客さんの接客を終えたお姉様が。黙ってお姉様の動きを見ると、肉を丁寧に焼き始める! すぐに肉全体に火が通り、とても美味しいお肉に！ 席にはタレ、ミル付き岩塩、ミル付き胡椒があり、好きなように組み合わせて味わうことが出来ました。 「このお肉がなくなったら、お呼びください。次のお肉を持っていきますので☺️」 と言い放つお姉様はいつも一人でお客様に対応していらっしゃるとのこと。 その時は予定が狂い、時間もあまりなかったので、「これで時間間に合うかな…」と思いつつも言われた通り、肉を焼いてもらう→食べるの工程を3度繰り返すと、あっという間に食べ終わり、予定時刻よりも早く退店できることに! 実は私はジンギスカンには苦手意識を持っていたのですが、ここのジンギスカンは臭みもなく、柔らかくて純粋な美味しさが広がり、ペロリと平らげちゃいました😋🍴 ここはプロに焼いていただけるので、生焼けも焦げ過ぎも心配なしの超優良店！ 函館に来た際には1度でもいいので、皆さんにも行ってみてもらいた...
