This place is known as "Daichi" and "Meshidokoroinakayadaichi". It's a 13mins drive by car through mountain road from Gora Station. A lot of restaurants are closed after 7pm in Hakone-machi and more so on Wednesday as it is their rest day but this place is opened until 9pm. And the food is AMAZING! It taste just as good as it looks. Not to mention the price is very reasonable for the large portion set meals. The lady owner was super polite and friendly! Tonkatsu, Karage and Shogayaki was our favourite set because the meat was cooked to perfection, juicy, tender and crispy! Definitely recommend this hidden gem for those who is looking for...

Hearty food and good portions, in a very homely, friendly atmosphere with welcoming staff - the woman waiting on us knew enough English to make everything easy. The homecooked style is the right balance of comfort and flavour and the quantity of food is very satisfying. Service was quick considering the number of elements we had in our meal.

It closes at 8, (as the Japanese listing of the same place says) but by that they mean everyone out by 8. Give yourself a good hour and a half before closing so you can take your time with the food and have time...
