I have been to Hakone many times, but Blisstia is a new hotel, and as a solo traveler I was worried that check-in is QR code only. For some reason I assumed that there are no staff, which of course was not the case. The entrance to the hotel was easy to find, there are at least 3 huge boards showing the way. Check-in took less than 1 minute, and the staff lady was smiling all the time and made me feel as a welcomed guest! The hotel introduction was a bit too short, as some other visitors has mentioned. I wish they would show where the fireplace is, and explained about vending machines and water available on 1st and 3rd floor. The corridors are somewhat dark, which gives a cosy feeling, but also made me panic, looking for my room, lol, because it was located in the left wing, but the glass door was not opening. It took me two circles going back and forth from the elevator to right wing, until another customer came. Apparently there was a dark cart reader on the wall to open the glass door, which I did not notice... 😅 The room is very clean, and there is a lot of space in each part of the room, including huge wardrobe (you can actually go in!), living room, balcony and bedroom. There is also a washing machine in the room, coffee maker (Nespresso, my favourite!), microwave, proper fridge, teapot and cooking stove (unfortunately with no pans or pots). There are also no utensils except for tea soons. The TV is huge, I regretted not taking my Nintendo Switch with me! I fell in love with the balcony, it was raining cats and dogs, but it was warm, so I was sitting at the balcony, drinking tea and enjoying the peaceful moment. My balcony was facing the street, but there are some trees planted, and the hotel is not too close to the road itself. Also because of how soundproof the huge window was, I did not hear a thing when the balcony door was closed. Also it was pretty quiet in terms of hearing the neighbours, it felt like I was alone in the hotel, lol. There are two sets of sliding doors that isolate bedroom from outside room, which could be a huge bonus for families with kids. The sofa is huge, somewhat hard, but still very nice to chill on with your Ipad or phone. Bonus kudos for whoever set up the sofas with 2 sockets in it, it's in the lower part. Nice! I wish there were floor pillows to sit on, the table height is just right for that. There is also another socket at the head of each bed, very convenient. The brightness of bed's overhead light is regulater, which was very nice as sometimes I like to sleep with the lights on, but don't want it to bee to bright. There is also a small table for work in the bedroom part, which I used to take my online lesson. The only downside is that it's wooden chair has no cushion, so if you are planning to work online for some time, it might be a bit uncomfortable. Check out can be postponed to 11:00, for additional price (3000 yen+tax on June 2025). Breakfast was a buffet stile, and was pretty decent with quite lots of options, I was expecting something much mure modest, to be honest. Homemade ham was nice, but I liked marinated duck better. As other customers mentioned before, there are some really nice options of bread, which I enjoyed a bit too much for my own good! 😁 Coffee was straight only, no latte, etc options, but it was pretty decent in my opinion. There is 7/11 conbini right across the street, and the local police station right next to it, which made me feel even more safe. Overall, nice experience, will definitely come again! Thanks to all the...
Read moreIt was so new that it didn't even exist on Google Maps at the time we stayed! Amongst all the options to stay in Hakone, we wanted somewhere new & quiet. Chanced across Blisstia and at least their official hotel website was also in English & user-friendly. We also needed 3 beds so they had options which were more spacious, and the floor area and floor plans were also listed together with the room options.||Very luxurious beginning from the moment one comes up the driveway and checks in. Checking in is mostly automated and would require that you key in your booking details and PIN/QR code. The lobby area is understated and they also offer a welcome drink in a choice of 3 flavours. Adjacent to this is an open-air patio with a fireplace area to hang around.||Everything in the hotel & room was new and the furnishings were of high quality materials. The room had a long soft and large coffee table, and windows with balcony on 2 sides of the room, it made it feel very open and homely. There was a small kitchenette but unfortunately no utensils or cutlery was provided, other than for making drinks. Maybe they didn't expect people to eat in the room.||The bathroom was very large, with 2 sinks and a separate shower area. New Panasonic washer/dryer could take a large washing load, but the instructions were only in Japanese and through trial & error, started a cycle with a long wash time. Maybe instructions in English should be provided for those who just need to do a basic wash/rinse/dry cycle.||Breakfast was an excellent spread with both Japanese & Western options. The house-baked ham was probably the most unique offering. There were also vending machines on the 1st floor, and a 7-Eleven directly opposite the hotel. A small but well-equipped onsen and outdoor terrace were at the back portion of the hotel||We weren't able to secure dinner reservations at the hotel even with a day's notice, so must be in high demand. All the staff were able to converse & speak well in English.||So overall a great stay, and hopefully more will come to experience it with more visibility on English-language websites and...
Read moreBlisstia Hotel was a wonderful experience. Rooms were huge at over 500 sq ft with a full sofa, 50 inch tv, kitchen with microwave and stove, ensuite washer/dryer combo, bathroom and separate washroom with shower and tub, large closet and great mountain views. I was very impressed and overall clean, functional rooms with extremely friendly staff. Breakfast was good, in house on site indoor and outdoor onsens separate for men and women were also a great amenity. Very close to A small part of town halfway up the mountain. 7-11 right across the street also. Very pleasantly surprised for the price and quality. Would book again if the price was right. Only stayed one night but would have stayed longer if price hadn’t gone up. The location was decent but a bit far from some of the main attractions. Buses from Hakone-Yumoto pass through with the stop right in front of the hotel servicing routes to Gotemba up the mountain and Gora and Sounzen Cable Car. Buses aren’t very frequent and everything shuts down around 5-6 pm except some small restaurants. After dark, there isn’t much to do other than enjoy the amenities...
