The gyoza makes this place, it's gyoza that you will remember. We got both types and both were amazing (one had an interesting leaf in it whose flavor I remember but not the name). I ended up stuffing myself with those and their excellent kimchi cucumber, so there wasn't a lot of space left for the tantanmen I ordered.

Talking of, I hoped it was going to be a small bowl, given limited stomach real estate, and it turned out to be exactly the opposite. It was a large bowl full of soupy goodness and noodles and corn and nori and what not! One sip in and I knew I was going to have to finish this while it's hot and spicy. I ended up getting thru 75% of it and taking a brisk walk to try soothe my burgeoning food baby.

The spot is clearly a favorite of the locals and rightly so. The servers were all so amazing and nice and made our experience wonderful, I'd love to be back here whenever I end up back in the beautiful town of Hakone to give Owakudani-san and Fuji-san a visit.
