Cafe Dining LüDERA — Restaurant in Hakone

Update from May 2025. The shop is celebrating it's Anniversary, and there is an unbelievable good limited time parfait available. If you are around, make sure to come try limited menu!

Update from July 2024. Used to be my favourite place in the whole Hakone! I was looking forward to my trips, knowing that I'll get coffee and breakfast here. Wanted to show the place to my friends this time. Unfortunatelly, this summer they have changed the working hours, and now only work from 11:30 or so, so me and my friends did not have time to go there before our bus' departure time. I would beg the owners to reconsider, and at least on Saturdays and Sundays to open from 10 am. :(

American here 🤘 IN'n'out, whataburger, shake shack, Hodad's, Slaters 50/50...none compare to the smash burger served here. Fluffy brioche toasted to a fragile but comforting firmness, unapologetically spicy burger sauce, relish hidden between patties like a shy 1st cousin at a family reunion, this is the best burger within sight of Mt. Fuji. And that's pretty far. A quiet but surprisingly comfortable aesthetic combined with genuinely caring staff, means you will find locals relaxing over a delicious affagato espresso served with amaretto and vanilla ice cream with lofi playing quietly over the speakers. French toast so soft and bold it begs not to be speared by the fork, but cusped around its supple curves. Cajun Shrimp, cheesy garlic bread, Basque Cheesecake, we could not stop ourselves. Nothing disappoints. This place has earned our loyalty, our respect, our lust, every single penny...

Atmosphere was really nice, lots of timber and lighting was relaxing.

Was able to order via QR code or at the register. Staff could understand enough english.

Food: when i rate food i look at quantity, flavour and presentation.

We had two burgers, presented well although very small, taste was a 8/10. For this though the cost was around 40% too high. $22 aud or 2200 yen was a bit of a rip for one burger of this size. Chips served with burger (8 of them) were incorrectlt cooked and i could taste the crystalisation from them being previously frozen.

No condements supplied with food.

Water was, and it was amazing. Was in a larger chilled pourer with lemons. Very nice.
