Aussie here to say 15/10 for this place. First, the hosts are very kind and friendly. They actually drove my wife and I to the ski resort of our choice each morning, and provided a fresh made-to-order coffee. We stayed in Jan/Feb 2024, with a lot of fresh snow around.
Second, the cabin (chalet!) is gorgeous. Clean, modern, roomy (for Japanese standards) for the two of us. We didn't use the loft bed, which would easily make space for a teen or two younger kids. I could go on and on about how beautiful the cabin is, but trust me. It is a gem! There are pots/stove, kettle, fridge, proper sink and dining room table so to you prepare meals if you like. There's a towel drier and space heater, which we found helpful for drying out our snowboarding gloves/boots/hats each day. A wifi speaker for music. A diffuser which makes it smell wonderful.
The location is a A$10 cab ride to the grocery store (highly recommended, very affordable and interesting), or if you have a rental car about 5-10 minute drive. There's a coin-operated laundry at the grocery store. It was 5-10 min car ride to Iwatake, Goryu and Happo One. Cars/taxis were much faster for getting around than buses.
We neeeded a rest day from snowboarding during our stay, and had a mobile masseur come to the cabin for two long massages. Highly...
Read moreIncredible! Highly recommend visiting Hakuba and even more so staying at &Mountain. The cabins are cozy, spacious and well thought out with amazing views. The highlight of our stay was the service, the owners went out of their way to take us to the supermarket on our first day, dropped us to a ski resort of our choice each morning and even dropped us to the next town, 40 minutes away, when the train lines were suspended as we were leaving. They were friendly and always happy to help. As other reviews have said, it is clear that they put their heart and soul into the cabins and looking after their guests. Each interaction left us talking about how wholesome and kind they were. We could not fault a thing and loved...
Read moreMy stay at this charming cabin in Hakuba was incredible. The cabin was warm, clean, and cozy—perfect after a day on the slopes. But what really made it special was the lovely couple who owns it. They were so welcoming and went out of their way to make me feel at home, picking me up from the train station, taking me to the laundromat and always ready for a friendly chat. Brilliant coffee. The views and tranquility were unbeatable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful...
