We opted for a ¥13,200 course, so we had high expectations for both the food quality and service. Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to those expectations.
The service felt rushed from the beginning. The waiter did not ask for our preferred cooking level, and before we even had the chance to cook our meat to our liking, the barbecue plate was swiftly taken away. Some cuts of meat were left too rare, making it difficult to fully appreciate the flavor of the beef. It felt like a waste of premium ingredients.
Additionally, instead of collecting our empty plates as part of the service, the waiter instructed us to hand them over ourselves. When serving our meals, he initially asked for our choices individually but later placed the dishes down abruptly and without care.
Before we had even finished our dessert, the waiter asked about our payment method. When we politely requested to pay after finishing our meal, he responded with a sarcastic remark, saying he was “just asking”. The interaction felt rushed and unprofessional, leaving us with a disappointing final impression.
This was our last meal in Hakuba, and we had hoped it would be a great way to end our trip. Unfortunately, the experience fell short, making it a disappointing conclusion to...
Read moreExcellent restaurant and everything was tasty. You should order a cold beer with the meal, I think that would've of made it taste better! However, I had two tired kids to deal with so I couldn't enjoy my food as much. We ordered the Nakazawa course for 2 adults and we were satisfied with the amount of food. All the courses took about 1.5 hrs. to complete and as soon as we were finished with one course another one came. I think I like the beef tartare the best with the egg yolk. . .I probably should've liked BBQ beef better, but some how towards the end of the meal I'm full so I always enjoy the beginning part of the meals the best.
I think the kid's meal is a really great deal and it's a lot of food for 3300 yen. Too much for my 5 yr. olds, but would be so great for a little bit older kids. I think they would enjoy the nice preparation...
Read moreAbsolutely one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Japan! The service was outstanding—attentive, warm, and professional from start to finish.
We ordered the wagyu set, and every dish was incredible—from the beef tartare to the melt-in-your-mouth beef tongue. The server prepared everything perfectly right at the table, which added such a special touch to the experience.
My personal favorites were the uni tartare rice bowl, which was rich and luxurious, and the chateaubriand (center cut of the beef tenderloin). Honestly, it was even better than what I had at a high-end yakiniku spot in Ginza.
Every bite was memorable, and it’s 100% worth the price. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Hakuba—you...
