【雨夜に救われた広島風の味】
On a rainy Monday evening in a quiet holiday town, お好み焼 きしべ felt like a small miracle. After finding our first choice shuttered despite Google’s optimistic hours, this warm, lively spot welcomed us in from the drizzle and saved our night.
The obasan ladies behind the counter worked with practiced grace, layering noodles, batter, cabbage, and sauce into steaming Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki right before our eyes. The wait, though noticeable, became part of the experience—an intimate cooking show accompanied by the scent of sizzling batter. The taste was satisfying, rich with authenticity, as though it came straight from a Showa-era street stall.
The restaurant hums with energy: locals chatting, travelers marking their home countries on a wall map with cheerful stickers. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel you’ve stumbled into a community, not just a meal.
If anything, the pacing could be a touch quicker—but on such a night, watching the craft unfold felt worth every minute.
Rating: ★★★★★ (5 stars) – A charming, authentic spot that shines especially when you need it most.

The shop is ran by some friendly local elderly women who cook big hearty Okonomiyaki and Yakisoba servings right in front of you. They have English menus available, so ordering is no problem.
The serving sizes are huge and they don't skimp out on the ingredients they include in the servings. If you love spring onion in particular they absolutely load up on these on top of the Okonomiyaki.
Considering the size of the food you get, the prices are also dirt cheap (anywhere from 700 yen - 1350 yen depending on what toppings you want. You can get big servings of beer for 600 yen a pop as well.
Dinner options on the island are fairly limited, so there tends to be a bit of a wait to get inside. Make sure you get here early so you don't miss your ferry if you're not...

I claim to be no expert in Okonomiyaki but whatever I ate in those sweet lady's kitchen was so damn mouthwatering it was amazing. Just go find this place. It's quite easy to locate. Just put the name or address in Google Maps and off you go!!
Okonomiyaki was like an omelette with noodles cooked to perfection. It was tad sweet but wasn't TOO sweet. My dad would have enjoyed it and he hates anything sweet that's not a dessert.
Make sure you try the alcohol. Whatever it was it's strong as shhhhhh. My sis and I got pretty damn buzzed.
Be prepared to mingle with locals because I think you're in someone's kitchen so it's very packed and small.
Do not leave Miyajima without going here!!!!
