Five stars ALL THE WAY!! It was scorching hot on the day we were here, I am getting sunburnt and i am sweating non stop thinking that I am dying - i thought that wearing blue t-shirt with happy Polar Bear fishing with cute Narwhal would appease the spirits of this mystical island of Miyajima to make the place cooler but to no avail! It was hot and I was dying when suddenly I see the familiar logo a little distance away!!
STARBUCKS waaaaaan.... sound of enlightenment in the background
YAY! I walked to the place totally drenched with sweat and feeling ashamed to face the baristas - when to my delight everyone that work there were super cheerful!! There was this wonderful and super friendly barista name Eriko that are so nice in interacting with every customer individually - patiently asking the customer order where some of the customers do t even speak english. After she gets the order she tell them that she will write their name in katakana (a special personal touch from a Japanese person - how sweet!) She took pride in writung their name before meticulously write down the bathroom code for each individual with the gestures of "bathroom peep peep peep peep peep!!" - to every customers!!! Amazing personal touch there!
The second barista was making the drinks with such smile and happiness (remember this is a tourist area - not every tourist are nice not especially in this hot weather) but the second barista name Micho was smiling and calling out peoples name (in katakana i supposed 😍) - wow talk about self motivated person. Amazing!!! These baristas so clearly define the hospitality of Japanese people. Kudos!
There are ample of sitting on the second floor - nicely decorated with view of the sea!! The place is clean, welcoming and definitely a place to slowly cool off!
My friends came to join me - and they were saying how nice the baristas are. They asked him where is he from - and was excited that he is from Czech. Never mind that his name is not Mark (he has been using that name to order stuff from starbucks as he have a weird eastern european name).
All and all - i am so happy to be here!!! This place is my own space out from the extreme heat and gaggle of sunburnt tourists. Well done staff at Starbucks Miyajima. Job well done!!
OH! I love how they write my name (haha i must be special cause it is not in katakana) with a drawing of a heart and a deer with some sparkles on the side.
Awwww thank you Miyajima Starbucks - i will cherish this memory as a big part of my 2025...
Read moreI really loved the location as soon I got in. I was greeted with so much respect. On top of that, there was this wonderful and cute employee who served me my banana frapeshino. When she was making my drink, she saw my splatoon hair clips and completed me. And we had a conversation. When my drink was ready, my cup was decorated with splatoon disgins and patterns that really made my day a thank you gift. I decorated a cup for her. I hope I get a chance to return to Japan and to this location (Tldr making someone's day can really...
