We stopped in on a whim and because I love unagi and wanted to know if anago was as good. Spoiler: it's better. My partner and I both ordered the (summer only) Momiji Gozen set, and were entirely stuffed at the end. The chilled soba noodles almost defeated me.
The atmosphere is great. We were sat at the counter overlooking the outside, so you can see people (and the occasional deer) milling around outside. Miyajima is bustling, even in the rain. It's a lot of fun.
Finally, the service was excellent. I attempted to order the entire meal in my broken Japanese, and the server responsed in kind, offering full Japanese back. She only switched to English when it was clear I hadn't caught her question.
