Gyoza no Ohsho Hikone Branch — Restaurant in Hikone

Ventured over to the modern side of Hikone in search of a dinner restaurant. Whilst the likes of Bronco Billy’s was the obvious choice, we continued on and came across this establishment. Rest assured, you will likely be the only gaijin here but don’t be dissuaded. This is a typical sign and wait system, where you write your name and number of persons at the bottom of the list. I used katakana, but am sure English would do just fine. Upon being called, you will be seated. There are menus at the table (English is written below each item) and once ready to order, press the button closest to the table edge to beckon a staff member. If you hear a chime, you’re on. If you don’t speak any Japanese, I think you’ll be OK. Once all your items have arrived, the bill will be left on the table which is then taken to the front register to pay when you’re finished. 2024年1月追記 なんやかんや言いながらこれまでテイクアウトで予約注文していたのですが、この度このお店ではテイクアウト予約注文が廃止になりUberEatsでデリバリーしか注文できなくなりました。 もうこれで本当に2度と利用しないでしょうさようなら。

このコロナの第三波が騒がれているご時世、どこの飲食店もカウンター席は1席ずつ空けて座って貰っていると思いますがこの店は違います。金曜日のPM9:00頃に1人で行った際満席で待たされたのですが、ようやく案内されて行った席はカウンターの一番奥で隣にもお客さんがいる席でした。 一応席ごとに仕切りを立ててはいますが、仕切りがあるからこそ隣り合わせに座るとかなり窮屈でかなり食べにくかった。 隣の人もまさか隣に人が来ると思っていないから、私が座る座席に荷物置いてたんですよね。 案内するぐらいだったら先にその荷物退けてもらえるように言ってから案内すりゃあいいのにお互いかなり気まずい状態で食事をする羽目になりました。 コロナ対策よりも回転率重視で味も昔に比べて激落ちしている王将にはもう二度と行かないでしょう。 この店の周りには良い飲...
