Soul food without soul. Hiroshima resident eight years running, eaten my weight in okonomiyaki. This place is neither traditional, authentic, nor particularly good. Like if someone tried cooking okonomiyaki after only having read about it once on Wikipedia. A fast food version. They hand you a QR code when you walk in, and you have to order by app. What a pain. After mucking around with that for ten minutes, we gave up and just got a staff member to take our order. And speaking of painful, a chair broke the instant we sat down. Checked the wreckage, and the thing was held together with tape. So were about half the other chairs around us. The okonomiyaki, if you could call it that, was nominally edible. Bland as a lab coat, overcooked, and with just a hint of roadside tire rubber. No one finished. You can't throw a pair of disposable chopsticks in this town without hitting a decent okonomiyaki joint. So if you find yourself on the steps of this disaster, just run screaming in the other direction and you're guaranteed to bang into...
Read moreWe had the Vegetable Okonomiyaki with added cheese and the Seafood Okonomiyaki. The vegetable one was really good and flavourful, with a good amount of sauce. The seafood one was bland, not enough sauce, and the seafood itself was overcooked and chewy. The place was nice, on basement 1 floor, with lanterns on the ceiling and the option to sit at tables or at the bar. From the bar, you can see all the chefs cooking, which is cool. Lots of chefs cooking different Okonomiyaki simultaneously, where I guess the variability in quality arises. Food order is via QR code, free WiFi available (poor phone signal inside), and pay is at the till, accepting card contactless. Decent value, costing just under ¥2,000 each. Not quite as fast as we thought for quick food and so many chefs, wait of approx 20min or just under. Would score higher for the vegetable okonomiyaki and would have this again, but unfortunately scores down for the seafood. There is also the option of vegan Okonomiyaki, which is...
Read moreWouldn't recommend this establishment. Went in yesterday at dinner time (around 6pm), with my family of 5. We went and ordered at the touch screen, we ordered the very cheesy and 3 pork and 1 seafood. We had to wait 40 mins for the 3 pork which wasn't great and then when we got them it wasnt the correct noodles and they wernt very cooked as the were very crunchy. Lettuce was also undercooked and there was no pork on any of pork ones. We went up to say to them but they just ignored us and then when they finally did pay attention to us they said there was pork in them, when there cleary was not. Not great customer service! The very cheesy one had pork in it, which it wasn't supposed to have and it was also undercooked, which could have caused my sister to be sick. The atmosphere wasn't good as we were in a basement sat on uncomfortable...
