Tonamaru — Restaurant in Inuyama

4.5 stars. One of the famous shops in Inuyama Castle Town. English menu with photos is available. Ordered and paid at the front, then gave me a number chip and asked us to wait inside the shop. Cozy interior design. Limited seats. Very busy kitchen. Can also place orders inside the shop. As I don't understand Japanese, I showed one kitchen lady my number chip. Resonable waiting time - not long. The kitchen lady was nice and called me to pick up my food. There is a free miso soup and cabbage beside the pick-up counter. Miso soup was very rich. A bit salty if eating without food. I think Miso Oden is also good. Try this next time. Hana set. ¥1000: includes pork, shrimp, and chicken. Hana- kushikatsu were served very hot. Fried with rice puff was very photogenic....

Red miso oden was served hot and with good taste just kinda salty, the good is there is free cabbage available for giving some refreshing taste, the only miso skewer I dislike was the intestine as it has stronger pork smell. Surprisingly, mozzarella deep fried skewer has better taste than the beef skewer. Everything is self-service so I give one star as I can’t leave it empty. Dinning space is one long bar area, basically just for customers to quickly eat and go so no special atmosphere actually. It’s ok to give it a try if you have never had red miso but the flavour is not something you shouldn’t miss. There is other interesting options available around...
