I only found out the story behind the restaurant after eating there. It is not so much fine dining as private kitchen to be honest. The family next table was playing games the whole night food was being served. It takes about 2.5 hours for the 8-course set dinner to be served and some of them were creatively done and yummy but others, like the dumplings, were not too impressive. And they serve only awamori and beer, no sake. The dessert almost came together with the bill and you felt a bit rushed at the end of it after waiting an average of 20 minutes for each course to arrive. Read moreお店のはちゃぐみをインスタで見て気になったきっかけに買いに来ましたが、あいにく店頭では在庫切れでした。わたしが当日の午後に石垣島を出発することを聞いた店員さんが本社に電話して、本社の人がすぐに在庫を届けてくれました。店員さんの優しさは一生忘れません!しかも期待していた通り、はちゃぐみはすごく美味しかったです!たくさんの人は石垣ペンギンに寄ってほしいです^_^
I saw a post about their Hachagumi on Instagram and really wanted to try it out so I came to the shop. Sadly it was out of stock, but when the shop attendant heard I was leaving Ishigaki Island later that afternoon, she immediately called the main office to check and someone from the main office brought stocks of the Hachagumi to the shop immediately! The dedication to serving customers here is amazing. And as expected, the Hachagumi is delicious - my family loves it too! Highly recommend everyone to stop by this shop when shopping for souvenirs from Ishigaki Island...
