Yaeyama Style — Restaurant in Ishigaki

観光に来て、ここまで不快な気持ちになる店は初めてでした。いまどき客に不条理なルールを強要する店です。味は普通です。観光客の方は、よい旅の思い出づくりの為にも間違えて入らないよう気をつけてください。

客は店内に私ひとりでした。旅の間に沖縄そばは食べていたので、締めにひとつ、石垣のラーメンも思い出にしようとふらっと立ち寄りました。

ひとり旅でしたのでスマートフォンを音の出ない状態で見ていたところ、突然ギラついた表情で「集中して食べろ、スマートフォンをみるな。」と言われました。

とても熱かったので食べるスピードは遅かったのかもしれません。ですが硬めで頼んでおり、硬さの変化も楽しみながらしっかり味わって食べていました。スマートフォンを見なくてもたぶん殆ど食べる速度は変わりません。その程度の置きっぱなしの流し見です。

私は「味わっていますし、美味しく頂いてますよ」と素直に答えたところ、店主は「そんなことは関係ない、書いてあるのが分からないのか！ルールを見てから入ってこい、書いてあるルールをまもれ」と責め立てます。

19時過ぎでしたが、客は私しかいません。ですので他のお客様の迷惑という意味ではないと思い「美味しく味わって頂いてます。なにが不満ですか？」と質問しました。

するとまず、「店の外にあるルールを把握してから入店しているのか？ルールが書いてあるのだから守れ」と同じことをいいます。その伝え方も強要的な上司のよう。

最後まで、そのルールの張り紙はどちらにあるかわからないままでしたが、そこまで気にされるなら、食券の発券時までに必ず分かるようもう少し工夫すればとも思いますし、注文受けるときにも店内ルールかあるからご確認くださいとか声をかけてくることもありませんでした。

私はスマートフォンをしまい、食事を続けようとしましたが、直後にあまりの不快感に吐き気がしてしまい食事をつづけることが出来ませんでした。

仕方なく「もういいです」と席を立ったところ追い討ちのように店主は暴言を続けます。

私も最後には頭にきて、言い返してしまいましたが、同じ目線の高さに一瞬でもたってしまったことが残念でなりません。

こちらの店主は私の印象では、自店の小さな利益と、ちっぽけなプライドの為にお客を蔑ろにする方です。

2度と行くことはありませんが、このレビューをみて、今後の被害者が一人でも減ることを望みます。

This was the first time I visited a restaurant that made me feel so uncomfortable. These days, it's a store that forces unreasonable rules on its customers. tastes normal. If you are a tourist, please be careful not to enter by mistake in order to create good memories of your trip.

If you are wondering why, please read on. I was the only customer in the store. Since I had eaten Okinawa soba during my trip, I decided to stop by to try Ishigaki's ramen as a finale. As I was traveling alone, I was looking at my smartphone with no sound, when suddenly a glaring look on my face told me,

Concentrate on eating and don't look at your smartphone.'' It was very hot so I may have been slow at eating it. However, I ordered it on the firmer side, and enjoyed the change in hardness as I ate it. Even if you don't look at your smartphone, the speed at which you eat probably won't change much. It's just a panning view that has been left behind.When I answered honestly, I've tasted it, and it's delicious,'' the owner said, That doesn't matter, don't you understand what's written! Please read the rules before entering.'' "Don't follow certain rules," he accuses them. It was after 7pm, and I was the only customer. So, thinking that it was not a nuisance to the other customers, I asked, "The food was delicious. What are you dissatisfied with?" First of all, he says, Are you aware of the rules outside the store before you enter?The rules are written, so please follow them.'' The way he communicated this was like a coercive boss. Until the end, I didn't know where the rules were posted, but if you're that concerned about it, I think they should do something a little more in order to make sure you know it before the ticket is issued, and also when you're inside the store when taking your order. There was no one asking me to check if there were any rules.I put my phone away and tried to continue eating, but right after that I felt so nauseous that I couldn't continue eating. When I reluctantly got up and said,

That's enough,'' the owner continued to yell insults at me. In the end, I got angry and retorted, but I regret that I was at the same eye level as her for even a moment. My impression is that the owner of this shop is someone who treats customers with contempt for his own small profits and petty pride. I will never go there again, but I hope this review will help reduce the number of victims...

We tried three different ramen, all were very good, but the Yaeyama Mix was the best. The owner was very sweet and was happy to explain everything, even offered us small bowls to share and try all three dishes. There is also English written explanation of how to eat the noodles and what condiments to mix them with. The owner also suggested to mix the leftover soup with rice which was super delicious. We came for lunch 30 mins before closing time but we were not rushed. There were plenty of seats available. Overall great experience....

Highly recommend this Ramen restaurant. The Taiwan ramen was super delicious. Perfect spice level, broth was extremely flavorful, meat was so tender. Only complaint was the amount of noodles in the regular order, but that’s why you can always order extra! The cook was very friendly and helpful with the machine you order on. He even comped us a free beer since they only had one of the local bottled beers left. Might have to make a second visit during my time...
